You had to know this was coming. Google has had plenty of hits over the last 20 years, but their goofy glasses will remain one of the most poorly conceived—and received—inventions of the 21stcentury.

People looked ridiculous wearing it. It cost $1500. The battery life sucked and the interface was difficult to use. Most importantly, at the time no one needed or wanted a computer and camera strapped to their face. Successful innovators see a need that isn’t being met and figure out a way to address it. In a bold strategy, Google decided to go the opposite direction. While there may come a time in the not-too-distant future that face-mounted computers are as common as Smartphones, Google Glass missed the mark in every way possible.
