2019 Infiniti Q60: A Worthy Affordable Luxury Car?

Infiniti is known for making luxury cars of exemplary quality with reasonable price tags for the average person. The 2019 Infinity Q60 is upon us, and it’s time to ask: is this a worthy affordable luxury car? Let’s look under the hood, inside the cab and at the specs and find out what makes this Infiniti stand out from the crowd.

    2019 Infiniti Q60

    Performance

The most important thing about any luxury car is performance. If you’re starting a vehicle at $40,850, then it’s important the car is actually fun to drive. In the case of the Q60, it is satisfying, responsive and quick. The engine is a bit quieter than you might expect, but the acceleration and power on display here are certainly impressive.

This goes double for the Red Sport 400 spec, which will run you an extra $15,000, bringing the starting price to $55,000. This trim level nets you a bump from 300 horsepower to 400, as well as a few minor aesthetic cues to differentiate the vehicle from its base trim.

    The Cab

The ride is smooth and enjoyable, though the steering is a bit lacking in excitement. However, the notably lacking part of this luxury Infiniti is the infotainment system. For whatever reason, Infiniti’s outdated InTouch system is still in play here, sporting graphics from 2008 and features from 2012. The underpowered tech on display in the cab leaves us scratching our heads.

Surprisingly, despite how quiet the engine is, the ride on the highway catches a ton of road noise. Crank up the tunes to drown this out, but it’s a bit of a drag to hear the road instead of the purr of the engine.

    Bottom Line

Compared to some of the competition, like the Audi S5 and the Lexus RC, this Infiniti is a solid contender. If you don’t mind the underpowered tech or the quiet engine, there’s a lot to love here. However, unless you don’t get a lot of opportunities to gun it, we highly suggest you get the Red Sport 400 upgrade, as it makes the car a blast to drive.

Noting that, bumping from $40,000 to $55,000 might take the vehicle out of the “affordable” price category. However, even the base trim offers a fun experience, if you’re looking for an affordable and stylish luxury vehicle.

  • Why Buy Infiniti SUVs?

    Why Buy Infiniti SUVs?

Infiniti is well-known for their luxury vehicles. The most common of these, of course, are their high-end luxury compact cars. However, Infiniti also produces excellent luxury SUVs that are well-worth your consideration. Why should you buy an Infiniti SUV? Because, frankly, they’re one of the best values in luxury you can find on the market today.

    Why Buy Infiniti SUVs?

    Luxury

There’s nothing quite like getting in the car, cranking it up, and enjoying a quiet, gentle ride, even over rough road conditions. While there are a lot of brands that offer that, no one serves it up in the same amount of comfort, and for as low a price, as Infiniti.

The value of luxury varies from person-to-person, but if you enjoy a big infotainment system, a great sound system and comfortable seats, Infiniti has what you love. Notably, it has all of these features at an incredibly competitive price.

    Price Point

Infiniti’s SUVs are rather affordable when you consider how luxurious they are. The Infiniti QX30, for instance, starts at $30,945, while the high-end QX80 starts at $66,795. That’s before you get into trim levels, upgrades and various appearance and performance packages.

Even when taking those into account, though, Infiniti remains a highly competitive luxury automaker. When compared to the likes of BMW, Audi and Cadillac, it’s easy to see what makes Infiniti such a popular brand. For those who love the balance of both power and luxury, Infiniti SUVs are a a great value.

    Performance

While no one buys an SUV to race around the track, Infiniti’s SUVs have fantastic performance. When the time to hit the highway comes, you’ll delight in the horsepower and acceleration of the otherwise responsible and elegant Infiniti vehicle. The best part is that this performance doesn’t come at the expense of the luxury the vehicle offers up.

Across the lineup SUVs, Infiniti offers up tight performance, great torque and awesome acceleration. While you’ll find vehicles that are faster or more powerful, you won’t find them with the balance of value, luxury and performance that you get with Infiniti.

    Buying Used

Another great aspect of Infiniti’s stable of SUVs is how they retain their luxury and value well after their initial release. Even four, five and six-year-old Infiniti vehicles remain luxurious, attractive choices for car buyers. Finding them for an even better value used is common.

In short, there are a number of reasons to buy Infiniti SUVs, even when they’re used. Hopefully we’ve made a believer of you with some of these reasons!

  • 2019 Infiniti Q50 Review: Is it Worth the Price?

2019 Infiniti Q50 Review: Is it Worth the Price?

In 2019, you don’t tend to think “compact” when you hear the word “luxury”. In this day and age, luxury seems to be synonymous with big SUVs, or, at the smallest, maybe a sporty crossover.

Infiniti’s 2019 Q50 has a lot of interesting things going on. Is it worth the price tag, though? Let’s look into it.

    2019 Infinity Q50

    What’s New

The 2019 model of the Q50 has a few new tricks up its sleeve. For one, forward collision warning and emergency braking have both been made standard. This is in addition to some general quality-of-life improvements, though the 2019 Q50 is largely similar to last year’s model.

Notably, this time around there is no hybrid model of the Q50. Instead, the gas-only version is the only configuration on the market.

    What’s Good

There’s a lot to love in the Q50. The ride is comfortable and quiet, and the cab is luxurious. The seats are quite cozy, and taking the Q50 around the block is wonderful. For those driving around town often, this is a wonderful vehicle.

The handling is quite tight and zippy, allowing for quick turns and lots of responsive motion. This goes hand-in-hand with the fast response from the V6 engines. While the V6 isn’t standard on the Q50, we recommend the upgrade: it really makes the ride wonderful.

    What’s Bad

It’s not all good news, though. There are plenty of other luxury cars that sport more muscle and oomph than the Q50. It’s not quite as strong as you might expect for its price point and size. To add to that, the fuel economy doesn’t make up for this relative lack of power: it’s got a below-average MPG. The lack of a hybrid option stings more due to this.

The infotainment interface is interesting, with its dual-screen design. However, it can be distracting and difficult to learn. Those who haven’t used infotainments systems like this before might be lost by this complex set up.

    Bottom Line

The 2019 Infiniti Q50 starts at #35,550 and options can bring it up to $53,250, making it a firmly luxury car. For that price, you could opt for a Tesla Model 3 or even a BMW with fewer options. As such, it becomes a bit harder to recommend this vehicle for those looking for performance or gas mileage.

That said, this is still a great luxury vehicle for the ride. If you don’t mind the slightly low MPG and the price tag, you can have a great ride with the Infiniti Q50.

  • Unsold SUV Inventory Causing Prices to Drop

Unsold SUV Inventory Causing Prices to Drop

Getting a great, affordable deal on an SUV or luxury SUV may seem too good to be true. But there’s never been a better time than right now to buy SUVs at reasonable prices – and that’s because many dealerships are being left with excess inventory due to a combination of market demand shifts and an overproduction of SUVs by manufacturers.

Many of the top SUV lines have not changed in recent years, but due to last years unsold models prices are dropping. This is making it very easy to steal a great deal on an SUV.  The auto market is making SUVs more affordable than usual – but this climate won’t last forever. You need to start looking for new SUV deals now if you want to take advantage of the available incentives; odds are they won’t last long.

Two developments in the auto marketplace have combined to put considerable downward pressure on the prices of new SUVs. The turn over market for leased vehicles is giving buyers a lot of gently used recent model SUVs you can buy used.  Then we have the fantastic shift in consumer demand away from sedans and towards SUVs. When there is a demand, surplus of supply follows. New SUVs are now more affordable than ever, thanks to a surplus of unsold inventory from the 2018 model year, manufacturers are scrambling to clear space for new 2019 models.

If you’re in the market for an SUV of any kind, acting now could save you substantially. Here’s what you need to know about SUVs and luxury SUVs: why they’re more affordable now and how you can find the best deals.

How You Can Save BIG Right Now On A New SUV

Thanks to these 3 major shifts in the marketplace, you have a tremendous opportunity to get the vehicle you want an extremely low price

    • Consumers are giving back their leases at an epic rate4. This left thousands of dealerships with barely used cars that have very few miles on them

    • A shift from large gas-guzzling SUVs to more efficient and reliable cars

    • The model year is coming to a close and dealerships need space for new cars

These conditions combined to form the perfect storm. Now consumers have access to the latest crossover SUVs and trucks at rock bottom prices.

    New OR Used?

Should I buy new or used? That is the question, and everyone you asks has an answer and a reason and an Uncle with a story. the Truth is it depends. Unfortunately there is no one-size-fits-all answer. There are sound reasons to buy new and sound reasons to buy used.

Too often the only questions we ask ourselves: Will I look good behind the wheel? and How big a monthly car payment can I afford? Neither of these questions will help you make smarter car buying decisions. Buying a car based on how much car payment you think you can afford per month will almost always ensure you buy too much car and pay too much for it. It’s also the wrong question to ask yourself when deciding between new and used.

    Luxury SUVs?

Luxury SUVs are typically sports utility vehicles with premium features that go well above and beyond the basic necessary function. High-end materials, like wood and leather, are often incorporated into the interiors of luxury vehicles, as are premium sound systems and other advanced infotainment features. Enhanced safety features, such as adaptive cruise control, are also usually found on luxury models but not the average SUV.

Luxury vehicles also tend to involve a special performance component. Many, though not all, luxury SUVs feature powerful engines and perform beyond the level of a basic SUV, Consumer Reports writes. Performance SUVs often include enhanced transmissions, suspensions, and braking for a smoother and more responsive driving experience.

    New Options

There are a lot of benefits of purchasing new. You can get the latest technology, including things like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Most new cars come with Bluetooth phone connectivity, so you can use your phone legally while driving, without having to purchase an aftermarket Bluetooth interface. Automobiles come from the factory with warranty coverage for at least the first three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. That gives you a predictable cost of ownership over the first few years you own it, without much risk of a huge repair bill. Purchasing a new car is easier than buying used. With so many versions of the model you want at the dealership, you’ll likely find the car you are looking for on the lot. If not, your local dealer can trade inventory with another dealer to find the exact model, option list, trim level, and color you are looking for.

Manufacturers also offer special financing incentives and lease deals on new cars that aren’t typically found on pre owned models. If you do the math, some zero percent financing deals can bring the total amount of money you’ll pay for the car down to the level of used cars with traditional financing. If you are seeking a loan from a bank or credit union, you will generally be offered a lower interest rate on a new vehicle than you would on a preowned model.

    Best New SUV Deals

    Chevy

Chevy has some great purchase options on the 2019 Equinox.  The 2019 Chevrolet Equinox LS/Premier/LT is getting 0% APR for 72 months for qualified buyers. That monthly payment is $13.89 for every $1000 you finance. In addition to that they have $4876 in rebates and incentives. The Equinox doesn’t skimp on standard features, rounding out a truly versatile compact SUV and one of the best buys on the market.

    Ford

The Expedition and Explorer from Ford, lets check these out. Ford is throwing financing offers at their top end SUVs. Making some very attractive offers. Along with rebated and incentives they are putting up 2.90% financing for 84 months on Explorer and Expeditions.  Now I never recommend taking a 7th year financing option but it will drastically reduce your monthly payment. While not adding to much to your total cost.

    Infiniti

Infiniti has some offers you may want to explore and some great new SUV deals. Cost on these high end luxury SUV are quite comparable and affordable. Boasting four models in 2016, Infiniti offered a crossover vehicle or sport utility vehicle for almost any luxury preference. An entry-level compact premium crossover, the Infiniti QX50 was heavily revised for the 2019 model year. Snagging 0.9 percent APR financing for 60 months is offered on remaining 2018 QX50 models. Infiniti’s flagship QX80 is also featured with 0.9 percent financing. The only 2018 Infiniti vehicle to be available with front-wheel drive, seven-passenger crossover QX60 can be acquired with 60-month, 1.9 percent APR financing. For people requiring aid due to a physical disability, the Infiniti Mobility Assist offer provides a reimbursement for approved equipment meant to improve accessibility.
