Facebook is Now Scoring Users Facebook Trustworthiness

Brace yourself people, things are about to get weird. Not weird in the fun British way, no, weird as in Mark Zuckerberg becoming the Orwellian dictator we have long feared. Facebook Inc (FB.O) has started scoring its users based on their Facebook trustworthiness in an attempt to fight misinformation. Facebook has started evaluating the trustworthiness of its users by assigning them with reputation scores from zero to one when they report news articles as being false.

According to a masked anonymous Facebook Executive, “What we’re actually doing: We developed a process to protect against people indiscriminately flagging news as fake and attempting to game the system.” They later stated “The reason we do this is to make sure that our fight against misinformation is as effective as possible.”

    Whats My Trustworthy Score Facebook?

From what we have come to understand, Facebook sends news articles reported as false to third-party fact checkers to verify. They began a year ago using this “trustworthiness rating” to help judge the reliability of the person flagging the disputed news articles. I think we have all seen these polls on the FB already. So If someone routinely falsely flags news articles later found to be accurate, it reduces their credibility the next time they dispute an article. Facebook would not comment on the fate of untrustworthy users at this time. However they did say that If a Facebook user routinely accurately flags false news, that person’s score improves. Other signals are used to evaluate users when they flag articles as false, but Facebook won’t say what they are because it does not want people rigging their Facebook trustworthiness scores.

I have a lot of questions that just seem to lead to fears. In just what way are they to obtain their Facebook trustworthiness rating. What could they possibly use for criteria? Is it going to be based on the same liberal agenda they have been picking the news headlines? Are they going to take notes from communist China’s incredibly invasive and creepy “social credit” system, which analyzes online habits and assigns citizens a score.

    The Final Facebook Trustworthiness Thought

Yes this It’s a mystery. You can’t see your Facebook trustworthiness score or anyone else’s. I think I need to see my score. I mean I think I’m trustworthy but I need Facebook’s validation for this to be sure. Facebook says it’s important to remember: this is a score for misinformation, not for anything else on Facebook. Also that this is just one in a number of indicators that Facebook relies on.

Swallow that pill if you would like, but I have just been to the puppet show and have seen the strings. Zucks and his global Zionist have been lobbying for a one world government for ions. We never gave it much credibility because the logistics just weren’t there. Then today happened and we are realizing its already in place and its far too late. The Terminator didn’t stop 1984 from happening, they only delayed it… to 2004. Like a line from a very bad comic book  “only Trump can save us now”.

  • Ten Coolest Movies about First Contact

Ten Coolest Movies about First Contact

First contact will likely be a messy, terrifying affair if it happens in the foreseeable future. Humanity is a divided, tribal and superstitious lot even today. However, the potential of world-changing, seismic shifts in politics and Earth is great when it comes to first contact scenarios. When or if alien life makes contact with Earth, any number of factors could change the dynamic of the interaction. While we can’t imagine what real first contact will look like, there are some pretty cool movies about it. Today, we’re looking at the ten coolest movies about first contact!

Ten Coolest Movies about First Contact

    Flight of the Navigator

This fun, upbeat 80’s movie depicts the adventurous David, a young boy who encounters an alien race. He is transported to their home planet and back at light speed. The journey causes him to return a decade after he left, though, causing his younger brother to be six years older than him when he returns! This film is a classic, full of fun and optimism.

    District 9

On the other end of the spectrum is the dark and gritty District 9. Imagining first contact as an allegory for apartheid, District 9 takes place in South Africa. Following the appearance of a race of aliens on Earth, the South African government segregates them into ghettoes and treats the aliens as subhuman. This is sci-fi at its best: forcing us to examine our prejudices through the lens of a new perspective.

    Independence Day

Sometimes first contact doesn’t go that smoothly. In this classic sci-fi action film, Will Smith stars Stephen Hiller, a pilot tasked with defending Earth from an alien invasion. This film envisions what kind of response Earth would have if it was suddenly, violently invaded by aliens. Themes of colonialism, bravery and determination run throughout. This film was pivotal, both for Hollywood blockbusters in general and for Will Smith’s career in particular. It also has one of the coolest speeches in the history of sci-fi movies, courtesy of Bill Pullman’s Thomas Whitmore character.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind

This Spielberg classic follows Roy Neary, a blue-collar worker who makes contact with an alien race. The resulting effects that the UFOs have on Roy form the film’s dramatic tension. Roy’s relationship with his wife and children is strained as he obsesses over the UFOs. Finally, when the aliens make contact with Earth, Roy is selected to go with them so that they might learn more about humans.

The Day the Earth Stood Still

This mid-century classic sci-fi film works largely due to its near Biblical proportions. A stranger from space named Klaatu descends to Earth to issue a warning to the leaders of its countries. He warns that all humans must begin living in harmony, acting as one united race. Otherwise, forces from beyond the stars will consider humanity (and its burgeoning atomic power) a threat. Such a threat would be met with lethal force. The film’s messianic imagery and timeless tale of nonviolence make it a classic worth watching.

    Starman

A love story dressed up as sci-fi, Starman follows the titular character, played by Jeff Bridges, as he falls to Earth to learn about humans. The naïve but affable Starman takes the form of a widow’s recently deceased husband, much to her surprise and horror. The widow, named Jenny, gradually warms to the Starman, and the two go on a quest to a crater that houses Starman’s ship. The journey is long and fraught with danger, as the Army tries to apprehend the alien in order to study him. Along the way, the two fall in love, showing that love can transcend even the stars.

    The Abyss

The Abyss, an excellent James Cameron sci-fi romp, explores a unique type of first contact. In this film, aliens have been on Earth for quite some time. However, they live deep beneath the ocean. Combining Cameron’s love of deep-sea exploration and sci-fi, the Abyss was a watershed moment for sci-fi effects. With top-notch acting and gripping storytelling, this is another sci-fi flick you owe it to yourself to watch!

    Super 8

Directed by J.J. Abrams and produced by Steven Spielberg, Super 8 is as much a coming-of-age story as it is a tale of first contact. Channeling the feel of classic 80’s films like ET and the Goonies, this throwback movie follows a group of kids who discover that the military is hiding an alien. This alien is peaceful, however, and just wants to go home. If the premise sounds familiar, that’s largely because it has been done more recently in Stranger Things, another excellent sci-fi.

The Man who Fell to Earth

David Bowie was an odd man, and his appearances in film are a testament to that. He was also a complete genius, which this excellent film confirms. Bowie plays Thomas Jerome Newton, a very humanoid-looking alien. He comes to Earth seeking water for his home planet, which is in the middle of an apocalyptic drought. The film, equal parts melancholic and meditative, is a long look at what makes us human. Vices like alcohol and sex addiction plague even the titular man who falls to Earth, making us examine what it is to be human.

    Star Trek: First Contact

The hint, after all, is in the name. Star Trek had, up to this point, only hinted at the historical event that led to first contact with the Vulkan race. In this Next Generation film, however, the crew of the Enterprise travels back in time while pursuing the Borg. They discover that they arrive a day before Zefram Cochrane completes work on the first human warp drive. That event will lead to the Vulkan Empire taking note of humanity and extending an invitation to join the galactic community.

  • Polybius: Fact or Fiction?

    Polybius: Fact or Fiction?

In the early 80’s arcades were the place to be for young kids. Pac-Man, Dig-Dug and Asteroids were favorites of fans the world over. Around this time, however, there were repeated incidents of people playing too much, or even becoming addicted to the games. Notable instances of players becoming ill from too many video games caused minor stirs. However, one urban legend holds that an arcade game called Polybius existed at this point in time that caused much more severe side effects. The legend holds that Polybius caused addiction, nightmares, memory loss and more.

Today, we’re taking a closer look at the legend. Was there ever really a game called Polybius? What could have inspired the legend, if there wasn’t such a game? And, most importantly, could a video game cause such negative side effects?

    polybius

    Polybius: The Legend

The legend of the Polybius arcade machine first appeared online around the year 2000. The game was purported to have only been available in the Portland, Oregon area for about a month in 1981. When it was released, it is said that it proved highly addictive. Players would line up around the block to play it, and fights would break out over who would play next.

The next part of the legend turns much more sinister. Following a session of playing Polybius, gamers are reported to have developed severe paranoia, night terrors and amnesia. Worst of all, those suffering from the effects of Polybius would even suffer from extreme hallucinations. The legend also holds that men in black suits would come into the arcade to examine the Polybius cabinet. This led to the speculation that Polybius had some connection to MK Ultra or some other CIA or FBI experiment.

Following a month or so of existence in Portland arcades, the game is said to have vanished. Legend holds that Polybius had gathered the data it was meant to gather, and as such the agency that created it recalled it.

    The Hunt for the Truth

This tale was first published on coinop.org in 2000. Research into the existence of the game has turned up no mention of such a game in the 1980’s. To be sure, such a video game would have likely elicited some type of response from local media in Portland. Instead, no mention of a game with that name is found until the 2000 coinop.org article.

That said, the urban legend could have grown in Portland surrounding a series of unusual events in 1981. The first even was the unusual occasion of two different gamers falling ill on the same day. The first was a man who collapsed after developing a bad migraine while playing the game Tempest. The second was a young man who played Asteroid for 28 straight hours in an attempt to beat a high score. However, before he could post the high score, he fell ill with stomach pain and had to call off his attempt.

Roughly a week after this happened, the FBI raided several arcades in Portland, suspecting the owners of running gambling rings. Is it possible that these events led to the creation of the myth? After all, kids and gamers can be superstitious! Considering the world hadn’t been introduced to the internet or cellphones yet, paranoia of this type travels fast.

    We May Never Know

While there is no concrete evidence to suggest Polybius existed, it’s impossible to dismiss entirely. If it truly was a top-secret government project, it certainly wouldn’t be public record. As for the actual events that could have inspired the tale, who’s to say those events weren’t connected to the cursed arcade cabinet? Sure, it’s unlikely… but what if it really did exist?

  • Iron Fist Season 2 Set to Redeem Danny Rand

Iron Fist Season 2 Set to Redeem Danny Rand

A new trailer for Iron Fist season 2 is upon us, and man does it look sweet. Marvel’s (second) coolest martial artist Danny Rand debuted in 2017 with a lackluster standalone series. (Shang-Chi, the Master of Kung Fu, is the coolest, in case you didn’t know.) Notable show-killer Scott Buck (who also killed Dexter and Inhumans) helmed that train-wreck. The first season of Iron Fist was remarkable for focusing more on boardroom politics than kung fu. While Iron Fist is a fun, breezy character who beats up ninjas, his first season was more whining and talking about stocks. Thankfully, Buck’s been shown the door and it looks like Danny is back on track.

    Rand’s Redemption

Danny was downright insufferable in the first season of Iron Fist, but he’s been getting steadily better with each appearance. In Defenders, his character was forced to undergo growth at the hands of a competent narrative, and Finn Jones had a chance to flex his acting chops. Then, again, in Luke Cage’s second season Rand made another appearance. Harking back to his excellent co-headlining of Heroes for Hire with Luke in the 70’s, this appearance excited us for his second season. So, now that the trailer is here, how’s it looking?

    Iron Fist Season 2

In short, it’s looking pretty sweet. One of the main complaints about the first season was the lack of impactful martial arts sequences in a show about kung fu. Thankfully, there seems to be ample ass-kicking going around in the trailer, and we couldn’t be happier. Following his departure in Season 1, Davos returns as primary antagonist Steel Serpent. The trailer seems to show us that Davos has a power much like the Iron Fist’s, channeling some red energy into his hand.

Danny’s fights with Davos in the trailer seem fast-paced, brutal and kinetic. Pretty much everything that the first season wasn’t, to be honest. We’re cautiously optimistic about this season from what we’ve seen so far. With Scott Buck off the show and expectations high, it’s on this season to bring the heat. Iron Fist Season 2 drops September 7th on Netflix.

  • Top Ten Villains We Want to See in the MCU

Top Ten Villains We Want to See in the MCU

Thanos is a tough act to follow, to be quite honest. However, he’s hardly the most iconic or awesome villain to appear in Marvel Comics. After the Avengers handle Thanos and his big purple chin, we’re excited to see who they tackle next. Here are the top ten villains we want to see in the MCU, in order of least to most likely to appear. Let’s talk villainy!

Top Ten Villains We Want to See in the MCU

    Mephisto

The Marvel Universe’s analogue to Satan, Mephisto is the supreme demon lord of a Hell-like realm. In the comics he’s responsible for granting Ghost Rider his supernatural powers. As it turns out, Ghost Rider, in the form of Robbie Reyes, has already made an appearance in the MCU. He was the main focus of a season of Agents of SHIELD, complete with his signature hellfire and chain whip weapon. As such, it’s not impossible that we could see Mephisto in a future film, maybe as an antagonist for Dr. Strange!

    The Mandarin

Tony Stark’s most persistent archenemy, the Mandarin is a supernaturally powerful criminal mastermind. He was invoked in Iron Man 3 but turned out to be a bait-and-switch. However, in the All Hail the King one-shot we find out that the real Mandarin is still out there. We’d love to see the mastermind in action, but he will likely not be opposing Tony, considering RDJ seems to be hanging up the armor after Avengers 4.

    The Elders of the Universe

A fantastic choice of antagonist for the combined forces of the Guardians and Avengers, the Elders of the Universe have already been teased. The Collector is actually one of the Elders, ancient beings of cosmic power and significance. They are often pitted against the combined might of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Particularly, the super-strong Champion of the Universe would be an excellent villain to face off with the Hulk or Thor in a later film.

    Molecule Man

Molecule Man is a super-powerful villain with an unhinged mind and limitless control of atoms. He is godlike in power and is often critical in world-ending crossovers in the comics. Notably, he appears in all Secret Wars events, whenever the world is critically threatened. In the 2015 event, he was responsible for the creation of the patchwork planet Battleworld that served as home to the surviving Marvel characters. If the MCU ever does a take on Secret Wars, Molecule Man will certainly appear as a villain.

    Kang the Conqueror

A classic Avengers foe, Kang the Conqueror is a time-traveling warlord from far in the future. He is seeking to subjugate the modern era by overpowering the Avengers. He often attempts to use his knowledge of future events to his benefit. However, he is consistently bested by the Avengers. If only he could see that coming!

    Dr. Doom

Now that the Fantastic Four have been reacquired by Marvel Studios, we’ll certainly be seeing Dr. Doom. The archenemy of the FF, Victor von Doom is a force to be reckoned with. He’s not only an accomplished mystic and gifted scientist, he also has body armor like Tony Stark’s. Doctor Doom is every bit the antagonist to pull together the Fantastic Four in an MCU revival. We look forward to seeing what Marvel Studios will do with this iconic villain!

    The Magus

Adam Warlock has been teased to be appearing in the next Guardians film. If this is the case, it seems likely that the Magus won’t be far behind. A dark doppleganger of the heroic Warlock, the Magus is a consistent cosmic foe in Marvel Comics. He would make an excellent villain to challenge the Guardians, and perhaps even rope in the Nova Corps. Depending on Captain Marvel’s role in the MCU, we could even see Alpha Flight. A Guardians of the Galaxy and Alpha Flight team-up to oppose the Magus is quintessential Cosmic Marvel.

    The Beyonder

As his name suggests, the Beyonder is a mega-powerful entity from beyond the known universe. Sporting stylish curls and unchecked egomania, he seeks to see the heroes fight for his amusement. He later takes on a human form and is defeated by the heroes. Jut like Molecule Man, if the MCU seeks to do a Secret Wars retelling, we’re sure to see the Beyonder. After all, who doesn’t want to see the various heroes of the MCU duke it out?

    Annihilus

Annihilus is an odd-looking bug monster from a negative dimension who wants to destroy our world. Do you need to know more? He’s as quintessential a villain as you can get for the heroes of Earth to fight. Maybe he’s not quite as nuanced or emotionally deep as Thanos, but damn if he isn’t cool. Although, if the writers could rework Thanos into a calculated megalomaniac, they could certainly give Annihilus some pathos. He’s a shoe-in to appear as the MCU does more cosmic stories. After all, the best cosmic Marvel story is Annihilation. As the name suggests, Annihilus is the main bad guy in that one!

    Galactus

The supermassive devourer of worlds was originally a Fantastic Four villain, but he’s a threat to Earth as a whole. If you’ve never heard of him, here’s the rundown. He’s a titanic, cosmic being who must devour planets for sustenance. He sends his herald, the Silver Surfer, ahead of him to warn of his coming. Galactus is fascinating as he’s not explicitly evil, per se, he’s just hungry. He must devour planets in order to sustain himself, and he’s coming to Earth. He would make a fantastic follow-up to Thanos, and a great way to bring together the Fantastic Four, Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy.

    The Great

    • Slamtastic Screen
    • Instalike worthy camera
    • Adequate long battery
    • Interesting new S-Pen tricks
    • All the Specs needed

    The Conclusion

The Galaxy Note 9 is Samsung’s Ultimate cry for tech geek attention. It has all the specs, a gigantic, magnificent, Fortnite worthy screen, a Bluetooth-powered S Pen, and a headphone jack… you know just all the essentials on the checklist for the kind of Android user that Samsung is targeting with a Note update. It’s a Phablets lover’s dream come true!

I’m sure we all remember the note 7 scandle, but that is all history for the Galaxy Note brand. That was two years ago, this is the Note 9 we are talking about today.

Galaxy Note 9 puts powerful technology in the hands of the tech geeks and gamers who demand more powerful and more screen from their smartphones. It certainly boast Innovative features and design make it the only phone to keep up with the next generation of users. Yes the rumors we have been telling you are true. Packed with a huge battery, a massive screen, and a powerful stylus, the Note 9 has more of everything than any other phone on the US market.

How does it look and feel

It’s large, I mean this phone is obscenely large. And when you put it in a case, it will become a liability. This is not a one-handed phone for any but the largest hands. Samsung moved the fingerprint sensor so no longer will the Note 9 fit into Note 8 case. On the bright side no more inadvertently smudging the camera lens.

The Galaxy Note 9 has a 6.4-inch quad HD Super AMOLED curved screen, and USB-C and standard headphone jacks, it is IP68 Waterproof. We have been through this, the checklist of required wants and needs are covered. Not only that but it is stunning, think Charlene Theron on the red carpet elegant.

No 5g on The Galaxy Note 9

We have talked about 5G coming next year, Don’t get hung up on that; it will be another year before 5G is widespread and before chipset makers work out the power-management kinks that come with new wireless data systems. Yes write that down you are hearing it here first. Next year’s Note 10 will be 5G. Wanna wait that long? Anyways, The existing X20 modem get speeds up to 700Mbps with the right carrier setup, showing there’s still plenty of room in 4G. That’ll do, That’ll do just fine.

    Sounds and Stuff

The Note 9 brings the S9+’s dual speakers to the Note line. The two speakers are by the earpiece, and along the bottom. Compared to the previous Note 8’s single bottom speaker, the speakers here aren’t much louder but clarity and treble are off the charts. Outside of the iPhone X I don’t think I have heard a better device speaker.

    The Biggest Difference

The Galaxy Note 9’s biggest upgrade is its enhanced and gargantuan 4,000mAh battery hit it with a 10-hour battery test video. Yes you know the one where I leave it on the10 hour loop of He-Man singing 4 non blondes “what’s going on”. Results, 13% left, astounding. This leads me into projecting screen-on battery life out to 12 and half hours. That Destroys all other flagship smartphone on the market. The battery is significantly larger than the one in the Galaxy S9+ (3,500mAh, 10+ hours), the Galaxy Note 8 (3,300mAh, 6 hours), or the Galaxy Note 5 (3,020mAh, 8 hours and 30 minutes).

    Quick Speck Look

Another great way to fill up is with refillable options. With K-Cup refillable pods and filters, you can use literally any coffee you prefer, because you can add your own ground coffee into the pod. This is a great way to get that same fresh ground taste right out of your Keurig machine. Refillable K-Cups called GoodCups can be purchased through Amazon and are loaded into the same spot where you would put your disposable K-Cups. Coffee Bean N Leaf Brews makes another great refillable coffee pod that is completely reusable and dishwasher safe. Of course, Keurig also makes their own refillable pod: the Keurig My K-Cup that allows you to use your own gourmet coffee by adding it to the filter provided. Replace the filter with the pod loader attached to your machine and you are ready to go. Using any refillable pod is not only a great way to have your favorite coffee not available in disposable cups, but it’s also great for the environment too!

Keurig Green Mountain said it plans by 2020 to change the plastic composition in the billions of K-cup single-serving coffee containers it sells annually, making them more lucrative to recyclers while removing one of the nagging complaints that mountains of the little pods are piling up in landfills.

“Our goal is 100 percent Keurig K-cup pods diverted from landfills by curbside recycling,” said Monique Oxender, the coffee brewer’s chief sustainability officer. “The consumer is going to brew it, peel and empty it, and pop the pod into the recycling bin in the same behavior they would do with a yogurt cup. We want them to make it a habit.”
