    The History of Oshkosh

Since 1953 the town of Oshkosh, Wisconsin has been home to the Oshkosh Airshow at the Wittman Regional Airport. It’s an annual week long air convention that host around 600,000 people and 10,000+ planes. Showcasing every type of plane you can think of from old warbirds, to the newest and most innovative planes to date. During the week long convention, There are countless Venders, workshops, daily air shows, and events that make it one heck of a weekend. The large number of aircraft arrivals and departures during the fly-in week makes the Wittman Field FAA control tower the busiest in the world for that week in number of movements. To accommodate the huge flow of aircraft around the airport and the nearby airspace, a special NOTAM is published each year, choreographing the normal and emergency procedures to follow. More than 4,000 volunteers contribute approximately 250,000 hours before, during and after the event.

Check it out for yourself! Either way, it may be worth checking them out and seeing if it fits your lifestyle. With that in mind, let’s look at the top ten mobility scooters.

    The Great

    • Slamtastic Screen
    • Instalike worthy camera
    • Adequate long battery
    • Interesting new S-Pen tricks
    • All the Specs needed

    The Conclusion

The Galaxy Note 9 is Samsung’s Ultimate cry for tech geek attention. It has all the specs, a gigantic, magnificent, Fortnite worthy screen, a Bluetooth-powered S Pen, and a headphone jack… you know just all the essentials on the checklist for the kind of Android user that Samsung is targeting with a Note update. It’s a Phablets lover’s dream come true!

I’m sure we all remember the note 7 scandle, but that is all history for the Galaxy Note brand. That was two years ago, this is the Note 9 we are talking about today.

Galaxy Note 9 puts powerful technology in the hands of the tech geeks and gamers who demand more powerful and more screen from their smartphones. It certainly boast Innovative features and design make it the only phone to keep up with the next generation of users. Yes the rumors we have been telling you are true. Packed with a huge battery, a massive screen, and a powerful stylus, the Note 9 has more of everything than any other phone on the US market.

How does it look and feel

It’s large, I mean this phone is obscenely large. And when you put it in a case, it will become a liability. This is not a one-handed phone for any but the largest hands. Samsung moved the fingerprint sensor so no longer will the Note 9 fit into Note 8 case. On the bright side no more inadvertently smudging the camera lens.

The Galaxy Note 9 has a 6.4-inch quad HD Super AMOLED curved screen, and USB-C and standard headphone jacks, it is IP68 Waterproof. We have been through this, the checklist of required wants and needs are covered. Not only that but it is stunning, think Charlene Theron on the red carpet elegant.

No 5g on The Galaxy Note 9

We have talked about 5G coming next year, Don’t get hung up on that; it will be another year before 5G is widespread and before chipset makers work out the power-management kinks that come with new wireless data systems. Yes write that down you are hearing it here first. Next year’s Note 10 will be 5G. Wanna wait that long? Anyways, The existing X20 modem get speeds up to 700Mbps with the right carrier setup, showing there’s still plenty of room in 4G. That’ll do, That’ll do just fine.

    Sounds and Stuff

The Note 9 brings the S9+’s dual speakers to the Note line. The two speakers are by the earpiece, and along the bottom. Compared to the previous Note 8’s single bottom speaker, the speakers here aren’t much louder but clarity and treble are off the charts. Outside of the iPhone X I don’t think I have heard a better device speaker.

    The Biggest Difference

The Galaxy Note 9’s biggest upgrade is its enhanced and gargantuan 4,000mAh battery hit it with a 10-hour battery test video. Yes you know the one where I leave it on the10 hour loop of He-Man singing 4 non blondes “what’s going on”. Results, 13% left, astounding. This leads me into projecting screen-on battery life out to 12 and half hours. That Destroys all other flagship smartphone on the market. The battery is significantly larger than the one in the Galaxy S9+ (3,500mAh, 10+ hours), the Galaxy Note 8 (3,300mAh, 6 hours), or the Galaxy Note 5 (3,020mAh, 8 hours and 30 minutes).

    Quick Speck Look

    • Graphics Mali-G72 MP18
    • Processor Octa core (2.7 GHz, Quad core, M3 Mongoose + 1.7 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A55)
    • Architecture 64 bit
    • Ram 6 GB
    • Audio Features Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus
    • Display Type Super AMOLED
    • Aspect Ratio 18.5:9
    • Screen Size 6.4 inches (16.26 cm)
    • Screen Resolution 1440 x 2960 pixel

    The Final Thought

The screen alone will improve your Fortnite results instantly giving you an unfair advantage over any other player on a regular smartphone.

  • Top 5 Madden Years

    Top 5 Madden Years

Its All Madden all week. We are taking the time to celebrate the most storied video game franchise the world has or will ever see. This game has single handedly changed America’s pastime from baseball to football. It has captivated 2 generations of men for 30 years. A lot of people’s favorite Madden is the one they played first or the most as a kid. This generally iterate on a formula in such a way that it can be difficult to distinguish between the different versions. From its roots in strategic play creation to the introduction of a full-fledged story mode in last year’s game, there are features that are usually lauded more than the games themselves. But what if you had to pick the best one? Lets take a look at the Top 5 best Madden Years and the Best players in those games.

    1.Madden 11: Chris Johnson

THis was the year it all came together, Defensive controls, hit sticks, 11 had it all. Madden was hitting a peak with now where left to climb, then EA created Madden NFL 11, an iteration of the series that is built more with the mainstream fan in mind, while still not losing any of the hardcore-focused accoutrements that have made their way into the package in past years. This was the year your AI teammates would actually land successful blocks and hold them long enough for you to utilize them if you can read the defense correctly.

MAddens best player in 11, hands down Chris Johnson. Step One: Wait for blockers.  Two: Press turbo like your life depended on it. Step Three: Score. That’s how unfair CJ2K was in Madden.

    2.Madden 2002 Best Player: Ray Lewis 99*

Madden 2002 was the second title in the franchise to be released on the 6th generation consoles. Madden NFL 2001 was by far the most graphically impressive football game to date, and Madden 2002 supported the upgraded visuals with the inclusion of several features that fans raved over. The addition of importable draft classes. Madden had been releasing a little over a month after its collegiate counterpart NCAA Football each year, but never before had the games had any sort of crossover. Now it did.

    3.Madden 2004 : Michael Vick

You don’t have to look much farther than the cover to understand what made this iteration of Madden so great. Michael Vick. Those two words create two emotions in long-time fans of the franchise. Either the joyful memories of running for hundreds of yards on your opponent because they couldn’t keep the former Falcons quarterback from making big plays, or the feeling of frustration as that red and black blur went streaking past your defenders on his way to yet another touchdown. Vick is the only thing we remember from this iteration but this was the version that got all the 6th gen features and functions right.

It’s true. Michael Vick received no 99 overall ratings from EA Sports. And yet … he’s hands-down the greatest Madden player of all time. His 2004 avatar was invincible. He had the arm strength to hit Peerless Price on deep route after deep route or Brian Finneran over the middle (just flip the play because Vick’s a lefty). He had the speed and acceleration to roll around the field with immunity.

Vick was to Madden as Bo Jackson was to Tecmo Bowl. He was a cheat code in a football jersey.

    4.Madden 05 : Ray Lewis

its release that year was nothing to be scoffed at, and it shipped with a feature that changed the way that people play the the game still today: The hit stick. If Madden 2004 was the year of dynamic offensive plays with Michael Vick, 2005 was the year of dominant defensive plays from the leagues best defenders. Mapped to the right thumbstick, a well-timed flick into a ball carrier could have devastating results: fumbles, injuries, and just those kind of hits that get people out of their seats. Cover athlete Ray Lewis was one of the most terrifying linebackers to ever play the position, and Madden 2005 allowed players to strike the same kind of fear in their virtual opponents.

Ray Lewis was 99 many times over the  Madden years and rightfully so. This year was a big focus on defense, they needed to combat the Mike Vick fiasco of 04. Only one thing to do, release the terrifying Ray Lewis.

    5.Madden 95 : Barry Sanders

While the gameplay of the franchise hit its stride three years prior, improvements came in Madden NFL 95 in the form of the actual NFL and player licenses. The previous year had NFL teams, but no player names or attempts at likenesses. Madden NFL 95 changed that, and was the sports game to play for a long time.

EA enjoyed quite a bit of success on the early generation of consoles even though it was unable to use real player and team names. Madden NFL ’94 saw the inclusion of the NFL License which meant that, for the first time in franchise history, the game was able to include the city and mascot of a team’s real life counterpart.

Also lets have moment of silence for all the cracked T.V. screens Sanders forced in the early days of ‘Madden.’ His in-game cutting and juking ability are still unrivaled.

    The Final Madden Years Thought

We all know the best year is always the current year, graphics and play get better every year. Madden keeps getting better every year, but that doesn’t mean that a time and place doesn’t line up for us all and produce a legendary incarnation of our favorite game.

Spiderman PS4 Swings Into Stores Next Week

    Here Comes Spiderman!

The Sony exclusive Spider-man game for Playstation 4 releases on September 7, 2018 and I think we’re all anxious to zip around NYC as Spidey. After watching a fair amount of gameplay at E3 2018, Im excited but I also have my reservations. To get an idea and feel for the game, we need to look at the game developer Insomniac Games. Insomniac has put out some pretty decent games such as Ratchet & Clank and Fuse to much success but can they deliver and please Marvel’s unrelenting fans?

Image result for insomniac games spiderman

    What to Expect

Insomniac released an opening cinematic 6 minute trailer at E3 and folks went nuts. The opening scenes show many of Spiderman’s greatest foes such as Rhino, Vulture, Electro, and Scorpion all breaking out of a Maximum Security Prison as Spidey tries to subdue all of them. The ending of the cinematic shows Spiderman getting a serious beatdown by the villians and ends on a bit of a cliff hanger. The trailer has some combat gameplay spliced in with the cinematic and it all looks pretty decent and smooth.

The combat and overall gameplay looks very similar to Rocksteady’s Arkham Series, which is considered the greatest superhero game franchise to date. I don’t blame Insomniac for taking a lot from Rocksteady, the model works. The fighting system was great, and Batman and Spiderman have comparable smart tech that can be upgraded throughout the game. Insomniac also is kind of ripping off Rocksteady with the storyline of the hero having to track down all of his enemies throughout the game as side missions. Im sure we’ll have a lot of Avenger easter eggs, and hopefully maybe one or two of them will make an appearance and help Spidey out in the game?

    Summary

To be honest it does appear that Insomniac has taken a good bit from Rocksteady, but I’m perfectly content with a Spiderman based Arkham game. One thing that I did notice about Spidey traversing NYC was that his movements did not appear very smooth. In my opinion, web slinging should be the games cornerstone and has to be perfected for the game to be successful. The way Rocksteady has Batman gliding and dive bombing through Gotham was insanely smooth and well executed. If Insomniac is going to take as much from Rocksteady as they have, they should also take those great mechanics for swinging around the city. Overall the game looks pretty decent and I will definitely be playing the crap out of the game regardless, but my spidey-sense is telling me that we might be disappointed with the one.

  • Tech Throwback: Madden 94

    Tech Throwback: Madden 94

Its that time of the week I like to take a look at where I’ve been to evaluate where I’m going. Technology is cyclical after all… wait no its not. That said I still like all the feels that come rushing back like a flood of nostalgia every time I get my hand on the tech I grew up with. I’m going to go back periodically and take a looking at the stuff that used to blow our hair back and get our minds rolling. Some of these device blew up and changed the world, some were ahead of their time and some just fell flat and became colossal failures. Today and this week it’s all about Madden, let’s go back, not to the beginning, but to where it all really started, Madden 94.

John Madden Football. Madden, for short. Video game fans everywhere are familiar with Madden, regardless of whether they’re sports video game fans or not. Once a year, for the past 30 years and counting, a new Madden game hits store shelves and sells millions of units. There are Madden tournaments broadcast on television. Retail stores open at midnight to sell the game to eager players. Madden, more than any other sports video game in the United States, is a phenomenon.

     The New New Madden 94

Madden 94 was the break out year, not just is popularity but Madden Football ’94 improves significantly off the first Madden game for the SNES and Genesis. Rather than being a jerky mess, this actually has a decent frame rate, and it makes defense work a bit better. Though largely made obsolete after subsequent versions, it was an outstanding football game for the time. In a mega addition this is the first version to get NFL licensing, meaning you can finally play with your team and real players. More on this below

The ’94-’95 seasons for EA Sports’ franchise were largely innovated by numerous gameplay features like a battery-save feature and perspective-switching of the camera for kickoffs, punts, and turnovers. Nonetheless, the most important addition to the series can be seen in the title: the NFL license.

Teams but No Numbers, I Know Who #32 is

Acquiring the official licensing for teams and players brought the excitement of professional football to gaming like never before. In fact, Madden NFL ’94 was the first game to use the iconic EA Sports tagline, “It’s in the Game.” Although there were some bugs involved, like the Giants/Jets rosters being swapped, this season was huge for Madden and EA Sports.

Madden ’94 does not feature the names of the players but does have the roster of each team by jersey number. You can still play as your favorite football player from the 1993 season (remember that each Madden title is a year ahead) although the players do not have any certain visible characteristics that set them apart from other players.

While you can tell who you are playing as by the number highlighted under the character that you selected. The characters on the screen are only identifiable by the color of their team’s jersey. Madden ’94 is played in an angled top down view behind the offensive team. You get plenty of time to choose a play and can even run audibles to change the lineup if your opponent seems to have your number on the other side.

    Playing Madden 94 Again

I powered up the old Sega Genesis I got my nephews to get hands on with Madden 94 again. I spent all of 1995 sick, battling cancer and recovering while playing Madden 94. My best friend at the time would spend almost all out of school time hanging out and playing me in Madden. He would die in an car accident just a year later. To say This game truly has a special place in my heart is an understatement. Its one that I forgot about or possibly blocked out until the very second it powered on.

The muscle memory instantly kicks in and I know the navigation through the menus like it’s an instinct. I grew up a Raiders fan and that is the only team I would play with.. Today is no different.  I jump right in to play a season and take Da Raiders to the Bowl. I played an entire season in one night, smiles and tears and enjoying every moment of it. They were all here, all my little digital friend with the big heart. Just battling it out for a super bowl in 32 bits. A truly joyus, amazing and much needed replay.

    The Final Thought

All emotions aside there is not much that really detracts from Madden ’94. I was certainly pleased with how much was put into this game with a full season. Plus the using passwords to keep your progress and the inclusion of playoff and championship modes, choice. You can do everything in Madden ’94 except create your own team or a do a draft. You can expect to find just about everything else in this game though. They even included an option to turn off John Madden’s commentary, and for that you became a legend.

  • Game Review: Madden 19

    Game Review: Madden 19

We have all been saddened by the news of the shooting at the Madden tournament in Jacksonville this last week. Upon hearing the news and grieving I started to realize this is the first time in over 25 years I have not purchased and played my all-time favorite video game and my longest held past time. Well now that needs to be rectified, if only for traditions sake. I immediately ran to the closest video game vendor, Target in my case, and purchased the latest copy. I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you my thoughts and reactions to the latest installment, Madden 19.

    Its So Beautiful

To kick off this review, Madden 19 looks absolutely stunning. The Frostbite engine recreates players’ bodies and faces to a level of realism seldom seen in video gaming. The animations on field, both during plays and after, could easily fool an observer that they were watching a real football game on TV. The new moves and animations, dubbed Real Player Motion, make the players move and react like real NFL stars, which works well, though it’s far from perfect. Some of the new “trucking” and “cutting” moves aren’t as intuitive as they should be, forcing the player to press buttons to initiate, and a small amount of lag means that there is a learning curve just to run the ball, even though the remaining players execute the play and create a gaping hole. A hole so big yo momma could…. Ill stop, its hard not to get carried away with the trash talk while in full madden mode.

Now I Got a lot of Beefs Too

SO for the first time in many a many years, Madden 19 is available on the PC. Super, lets go PC route this year. I mean why not? Hold on little guys ill tell you why not. Its terrible….. I love this game, don’t get me wrong but] coming from a PC gamer who’s been patiently waiting for Madden to return to the platform for a decade or so. To say the least my expectations are high, I’m running a stellar Alienware rig with a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Graphics Card with 4 GB, should be adequate… Not for this Madden 19 monster it isn’t. Lags, freezing, lags freezing, crash. Disappointment.

I uninstalled, re-purchased through Origin. They key is Origin, similar to Steam, operated by EA I believe. You can redeem your code on the EA or Origin website under account. I’m new to Origin (EA isn’t smart enough to allow on Steam IMO), so I had to download their digital management software. Went to game library, and then started the download. Very easy. Now you can play the game with mouse/keyboard or with Xbox One controller. Others stated it’s not compatible, but in game controller settings clearly shows the Xbox One controller. Not sure if it matters, but I’m on Windows 10 with latest updates. Note: Make sure your controller is connected prior to launching the game.

    Longshot Mode

The big addition is the continuation of the Longshot story which kicked off last year. Longshot: Homecoming sees Devin Wade struggling as a Dallas Cowboy and Colt Cruise back in Mathis, dealing with an expected discovery of a half-sister. These two stories play out as a “playable movie”, challenging any preconceived notions of what can be done in a “sports video game.” It’s a nice alternative to the constant grinding of playing games in Franchise and MUT, or even exhibition against the CPU, co-op, or online.

    The Final Madden 19 Thought

I’m home again, The coolest part about my tradition with madden is it is usually released on or around my birthday Aug, 11. It’s a storied franchise interwoven in to my life since childhood, and it took an act of violence to realize I almost let it slip away. Stay tuned for my Tech throwback this week about my favorite version of Madden.

  • Best Stove in 2018

    Best Stove in 2018

The range aisle is bristling with options, from basic freestanding ranges to double-ovens and souped-up slide-ins. You might come across more than 40 models on a Lowe’s showroom floor or nearly 60 at a typical Sears

Consumer Reports test models from such brands as Amana, GE, Kenmore, KitchenAid, LG, Maytag, Samsung, Viking, Whirlpool, and Wolf, ranging in price from $400 to almost $8,000. They test and score them on how quickly they deliver cook-top heat, simmering, baking, broiling, and self-cleaning, just as with we do with all ranges we test.

We compiled the results and compare the latest kitchen ranges so that you can save time and money.

    What to Consider

    Type
Freestanding ranges are the most popular and easiest to install. Typically the oven control panel is on the back panel, above the cooktop surface. Slide-in ranges give a custom built-in look and easily slide in between surrounding cabinets. The oven controls are on the range front and there’s no back panel, which showcases your back-splash.

    Size
Most electric and gas ranges are 30-inches wide, and what we buy and test. Pro-style ranges usually span 36 inches or more. We test both 30-inch and 36-inch pro-style ranges. They’re big on style, but aren’t the best performing ranges we’ve tested. Even regular ranges now have beefy knobs, rugged grates, style, and stainless trim for a lot less money.

    Capacity
A roomy oven comes in handy when baking or entertaining. We measure oven space you can actually use, so check the capacity scores in our range Ratings. The smallest ovens in our tests are a little more than 2 cubic feet; the largest are nearly 4 cubic feet.

Which Type Is Right For You?
There are three types of ranges based on fuel: electric, gas, and dual-fuel, which pairs a gas cook-top with an electric oven. Both gas and electric have their advantages.

If you’ve ever had to shop for a new stove, you know it can be difficult. There are just so many options! It’s also a very uncommon item to have to shop for. Normally, you just buy a house with a stove and never worry about it. However, if your old stove stopped working, or if you’re remodeling your kitchen, you’ll have to start shopping! With that in mind, here are our picks for best stove in 2018!

    Best Stoves in 2018

    Kenmore Elite 95073
This stove has stainless steel construction, 4 burners and a convection oven. It also sports a warming drawer. The convection oven is highly advanced, using heating elements and fans to distribute the heat evenly throughout the oven. This stove also uses magnetic fields to transfer heat directly into items you’re cooking. If you’ve ever had a stove with “hot spots” and inconsistencies, you’ll appreciate this feature.

This convection style allows for great, consistent and fast cooking. Food will be warmed all the way through, regardless of size or density! This is an all-around quality appliance for a little over $1,600, and one of our favorites.

    Kenmore Elite 95052

Our next entry is from the same line as the first entry! This one is a smooth-top, meaning it looks completely featureless except for indicators showing where the eyes are. The stove-top is ceramic glass, which means it not only conveys heat well, but it also looks great. It’s also easy to clean and very no-nonsense, looking great in any kitchen.

Much like the other entry on our list, this stove features a fan-assisted convection oven. It allows for fast cooking and even heating throughout food items. However, it doesn’t offer the magnetic heating featured in the 95073. The trade off is in the price: this one costs just over $1,000!

    Samsung NX58F5700WS

Samsung is a well-known and respected name in electronics, but you may not have known they make appliances too. This entry is a fantastic, modern and sleek stove that features tons of great technology. It is very large and features five burners of various sizes. This allows for cooking tons of different types of pots at once. You can have a large pot of stew on while you cook a single egg in a small skillet!

Other great features include the true convection of the oven, which allows for fantastically even baking. It has warming drawers for holding food that hasn’t been served yet, too. There are large, sliding racks within the oven to allow for transfer of heavy items, too! This entry retails for right around $1,600, and is well worth the price!

    Bloomberg’s iPhone Rumors

It is getting closer to iPhone day, the most glorious day of the year. My house is decorated with a nerdy apple fan boy glee, the chargers are stocked all through the house and not a device is left unbacked up, not even the magic mouse. All that’s left to is to sift through the mountain of speculation, rumors and trolls to paint the picture of what’s to come on that glorious iPhone day morning. Today notorious troll site Bloomberg has posted their “inside” knowledge and Bloomberg’s iPhone rumors they have uncovered. Let’s take a look and the 5 things they say to expect on iPhone day.

    Here’s a rundown of Bloomberg’s iPhone Rumors:

    1.           Three new iPhones. Expect an upgraded iPhone X with a 5.8-inch OLED screen; a new high-end iPhone with a 6.5-inch OLED screen; and a new cheaper model (which will look like the iPhone X) with a 6.1-inch LCD screen. The two larger devices may have dual-SIM card slots in some regions.
    2. Cheap(ish) and colorful. The 6.1-inch iPhone will come in a variety of colors. (Earlier rumors said gray, white, blue, red, d orange variants will be available.) It’ll also have un-colored aluminum edges instead of the color-matching stainless steel casing on the iPhone X.
    3. Gestures for all. All three devices will have the new gesture controls introduced in the iPhone X as well as Apple’s face-unlocking system Face ID. Apple is also expected to take advantage of the 6.5-inch device’s larger screen with the ability to “view content side-by-side” in apps like Mail and Calendar.
    4. Naming confusion. According to Bloomberg’s iPhone Rumors, there’s been quite a bit of internal discussion over the names, as the three devices aren’t easy to differentiate. The new high-end device might be “the iPhone Xs” with the larger device “the iPhone Xs Plus.” That’s subject to change.
    5. Peripherals and more. Sometime this year (not necessarily in September), we can also expect updated AirPods; a new Apple Watch with a larger screen in the same body; a new wireless charger (probably the much-delayed

    The Final Thought

They hate and play it safe, that is what Bloomberg media does. What’s it worth? Next to nothing. Of the 5 tips they gave only the Color options are interesting. Will apple go back to an iPhone 5c model? I don’t think so, it is more likely Bloomberg is assuming a cheaper iPhone option will mock the last cheaper iPhone option. They are undoubtedly forgetting about the existing cheap iPhone option the iPhone SE. Its clear to see either Bloomberg’s iPhone Rumors are a hit piece or fluff, ill allow you to decide. I guess this is a prime example of the fake news we are hearing about so much these days.  Stay tuned to Goodfind.guru later this week for Beau’s 5 things to expect on iPhone day.

Flop Ten: Worst Reboots in Video Games

Video games are a funny medium. When things start to look less than ideal for game companies, they’re quick to redesign and reboot characters. However, generally these reboots err too far on the side of “edgy” or just plain lame. Gaming has come a long way, but sometime awful reboots like this pop up. For the sake of recording and shaming those who have made the most egregious offenses in that category, here’s our list of the worst reboots in video games.

Ten Worst Reboots in Video Games

    Bomber Man Act Zero

From cute little guy with cartoon bombs to edgy android, this was a terrible redesign. Bomber Man Act Zero is the first of many “edgy” games on this list. The most common theme here is game devs simply trying to hard to be taken seriously.

    Sonic Boom

Sonic has hardly been the best when translated to 3D. In fact, with a few very notable exceptions, 3D Sonic is more of a joke than a franchise. Sonic Boom takes this to new heights by reimagining the whole Sonic crew in a more tribal setting. It just looks weird, and the whole series looks like some kind of fan creation. That’s not good for one of gaming’s biggest icons.

    Prince of Persia Warrior Within

Prince of Persia has been a huge name in gaming for years. The reboot, Sands of Time, was an awesome return to form for the legacy franchise. Its sequel, Warrior Within, however, tried far too hard to make the Prince dark and brooding. Another case of edginess ruining an otherwise good character, this is one better left forgotten to the sands of time!

    Doom 3

Entirely missing the point of Doom, the third entry in the series played its horror tropes straight. One of the main errors it made was in demon design. Where earlier demons were over-the-top and almost goofy, Doom 3 introduced redesigns that made us cringe. The pinky demon, for instance, went from being a minotaur to some kind of mole rat with robot legs. Don’t even get us started on the ugly meatball demon design.

    Alone in the Dark

The 2008 version of Alone in the Dark was not a particularly good game. It was buggy, ugly and not terribly well-made. The worst sin the game committed, though, was the treatment of its main character, Edward Carnby. The once stoic and serious investigator became a weirdly erratic and awkward jerk. He was uncharismatic and really just drug the whole game down.

    Crash of the Titans

This ill-conceived reboot brought redesigns for nearly every character in the series. Crash himself looked like a bad DeviantArt original character, for one. Most egregious was Tiny Tiger, who had somehow morphed into a weird parody of Mike Tyson. Unoriginal, unfunny jokes were commonplace, and the gameplay was entirely uninspired and boring.

    Bionic Commando 2009

This unfortunate game exists, and that makes us sad. In this game, 80’s action hero extraordinaire Rad Spencer is renamed Nathan Spencer and made edgy and emo. Oh, and his wife is his bionic arm. Or something. This game is legitimately awful, do yourself a favor and never play it.

    Conker: Live and Reloaded

Conker’s Bad Fur Day was a hilarious riff on the previously family-friendly platforming franchise. Conker: Live and Reloaded was an underdeveloped, overhyped mess that somehow managed to look worse than the N64 game it was based on. Rare really went downhill after being acquired by Microsoft.

    Perfect Dark Zero

No, seriously, Rare really dropped the ball on their legacy franchises when they got acquired by Microsoft. Perfect Dark Zero is a great example of this. Supposedly a prequel to the original Perfect Dark, this one features a younger Joanna Dark. However, she appears less like her usual bad-ass self and more like a Hot Topic wannabe. Another case of edginess derailing an otherwise great franchise.

    DmC: Devil May Cry

Photo Credit: PC & Tech Authority

The very worst reboot in the history of video games belongs to the boy band-looking “Dante” from the ill-conceived DmC: Devil May Cry. The Devil May Cry series was experiencing strong sales, great reviews and had a thriving fanbase. In order to piss off everyone, though, Capcom tore it down and rebooted the series under Western developer Ninja Theory. For whatever reason, the beloved goofy badass Dante was replaced by a high school student who was trying far too hard to be gritty.

Forgetting all of what made Dante such an effortlessly likable character, this game saw him morph into a petulant brat. Needless to say, fans were displeased and are still awaiting a proper Devil May Cry 5. Thankfully, that very game is in development and slated for a March 2019 release. Hooray!
