    Bloomberg’s iPhone Rumors

It is getting closer to iPhone day, the most glorious day of the year. My house is decorated with a nerdy apple fan boy glee, the chargers are stocked all through the house and not a device is left unbacked up, not even the magic mouse. All that’s left to is to sift through the mountain of speculation, rumors and trolls to paint the picture of what’s to come on that glorious iPhone day morning. Today notorious troll site Bloomberg has posted their “inside” knowledge and Bloomberg’s iPhone rumors they have uncovered. Let’s take a look and the 5 things they say to expect on iPhone day.

    Here’s a rundown of Bloomberg’s iPhone Rumors:

    1.           Three new iPhones. Expect an upgraded iPhone X with a 5.8-inch OLED screen; a new high-end iPhone with a 6.5-inch OLED screen; and a new cheaper model (which will look like the iPhone X) with a 6.1-inch LCD screen. The two larger devices may have dual-SIM card slots in some regions.
    2. Cheap(ish) and colorful. The 6.1-inch iPhone will come in a variety of colors. (Earlier rumors said gray, white, blue, red, d orange variants will be available.) It’ll also have un-colored aluminum edges instead of the color-matching stainless steel casing on the iPhone X.
    3. Gestures for all. All three devices will have the new gesture controls introduced in the iPhone X as well as Apple’s face-unlocking system Face ID. Apple is also expected to take advantage of the 6.5-inch device’s larger screen with the ability to “view content side-by-side” in apps like Mail and Calendar.
    4. Naming confusion. According to Bloomberg’s iPhone Rumors, there’s been quite a bit of internal discussion over the names, as the three devices aren’t easy to differentiate. The new high-end device might be “the iPhone Xs” with the larger device “the iPhone Xs Plus.” That’s subject to change.
    5. Peripherals and more. Sometime this year (not necessarily in September), we can also expect updated AirPods; a new Apple Watch with a larger screen in the same body; a new wireless charger (probably the much-delayed

    The Final Thought

They hate and play it safe, that is what Bloomberg media does. What’s it worth? Next to nothing. Of the 5 tips they gave only the Color options are interesting. Will apple go back to an iPhone 5c model? I don’t think so, it is more likely Bloomberg is assuming a cheaper iPhone option will mock the last cheaper iPhone option. They are undoubtedly forgetting about the existing cheap iPhone option the iPhone SE. Its clear to see either Bloomberg’s iPhone Rumors are a hit piece or fluff, ill allow you to decide. I guess this is a prime example of the fake news we are hearing about so much these days.  Stay tuned to Goodfind.guru later this week for Beau’s 5 things to expect on iPhone day.

  • 5G Iphone, No Not Yet

    5G Iphone, No Not Yet

We have all read the 5 part dissertation of the 5G network here at Good.find.guru. We know 2018 is going to be the year that 5G networks finally set up and start our next stage in human evolution. 5G smartphones will be expanding rapidly in 2019. WE are all really thinking, that’s great an all but it doesn’t matter till there is a 5G iPhone. Well from what we are hearing today It’s going to take until at least 2020 for Apple to make a 5G iPhone available.

Apple is never the first to adapt the new networks, but they are the ones that make it the standard. Apple, has never been very interested in putting cutting-edge wireless tech into its phones first, they want to be able to offer 5G when 5G has the network penetration to be completely utilized. The benefits of 5G, like lower latency and gigabit speeds, aren’t particularly useful for smartphones right now, and Apple would rather wait for coverage to be widely adopted and implemented before trying to integrate a new technology. Completely understandable.

Then we get this bit of news Nokia on Wednesday announced a flat, 3 euro ($3.48) per-device licensing fee for its 5G standards-essential patents. At the same time we are hearing that Ericsson will be charging between $2.50 and $5 based on the cost of a device. Now Qualcomm has said they are licensing its 5G patents at 2.275 percent of a single-mode phone’s total price, and 3.25 percent for multi-mode phones, capping at $400 of course. If you do the math a 5G smartphone could potentially be saddled with over $21 in combined royalty payments. Around $13 will go to Qualcomm regardless of any current spats.

We have not heard from Intel and Huawei yet either on the rate for the 5G chips. While volume fee arrangements could reduce the price the other companies are going to try to push the price up. We do not specifically known what Apple pays per iPhone for 4G technologies. The licensing isn’t as simple as what has been worked out for 5G technologies. The cost is thought to be much higher than the approximate $21 expected for 5G.

Apple and Qualcomm Delay in the 5G iPhone

Apple and Qualcomm have been legally battling this issue since 2016. Even then Apple complained that Qualcomm’s practice of charging royalties on a phone’s entire cost was excessive. They say they should be disallowed since many of the patents involved are part of industry standards. Qualcomm in turn shut off a flow of payments. Apple described them as partial rebates on the royalties. This lead Apple to sue Qualcomm and stop paying royalties. In Turn Apple has designing its 2018 mobile devices to work without any Qualcomm chips.  This year’s iPhones are set to use Intel modems exclusively. They are nearly certainly going to skip 5G this time around, since the standard was only finalized in June, and U.S. carriers are only just beginning to deploy coverage.

    The Final Thought

These licensing fees will have to be paid no matter who provides the actual 5G modem in Apple’s future smartphone. They aren’t related to hardware, but cover the cost of using patents on the 5G standard itself. So for Now we will just bite our tongues and wait for the 5G iPhone. Between you and me ill pay and extra $21 for the 5G.

  • Bone Conduction Headphones The Top 3

Bone Conduction Headphones The Top 3

Bone conduction allows you to hear sound through the vibration of the bones of your face, jaw bones, and cheek bones. This means that the sound waves are bypassing the outer and middle ear and directly stimulating the inner ear (hearing organ). Bone conduction technology has been around for many years as a tool to help those with hearing loss. Beethoven, who was hearing impaired, used bone conduction to listen to music by biting down on his composer’s wand that was touching the piano. I’ll bet you didn’t know that. While this technology has been around for quite a while, even making its way to hearing aids. Now its 2018 and we have crafted the ideal way to use this tech and make rocking Bone Conduction Headphones that let you enjoy your music despite your copious and annoying surrounding whilst not missing any of them.

They offer a much duller sound compared to traditional headphones or earbuds, and they have a weaker bass response and quieter volume. On the plus side, most pairs are wireless, sweat-proof, flexible, and comfortable, and they have easy-to-use controls built-in for quickly adjusting volume and switching songs. Lets take a look that the top 3 bone conduction headsets

    1. AfterShokz Trekz Air Open Ear Wireless Bone Conduction Headphones,

Bone conduction technology and OpenFit design delivers music through your cheekbones. This processes ensures ears remain completely open to ambient sounds for maximum situational awareness during long-term wear. We tried them all and these are the best of the best. The Trekz Air build is 20% lighter than its counterpart with a new organic design that delivers a much more comfortable feel. These wireless stereo headphones are the safest alternative to traditional sport headphones and earbuds with superior sound and sound sensation.

    2. AfterShokz Trekz Titanium Open Ear Wireless Bone Conduction Headphones,

Aftershokz takes the 2 spot as well. If you are seeing a trend, and you should be, Aftershokz are leading the way in Bone conduction headphones. The lightweight and comfortable Trekz Titanium wireless stereo headphones are straight amazing. Bone conduction technology, an open ear design and a suite of convenient features deliver premium music play and crystal clear calling without compromise. Although slightly heavy and not as comfortable as the air. I will say I think I prefer the sound quality on the titanium.

    3. Vidonn F1 Titanium Wireless Bone Conduction Headphones

The Vidonn F1 headset is an affordable wireless pick that pairs to your smartphone over Bluetooth. Weighing in at just 1 ounce, the headphones are incredibly lightweight and comfortable. They’re made of titanium.  They’ll survive drops, and they’re also impervious against sweat, making them a great pick for runners and cyclists. They’re headphones offer 6 hours of battery life. They even have a built-in microphone that comes in handy for extremely disturbing phone calls.

    The Final Thought

Im very surprised and It doesn’t seem sensible that audio traveling through your bones instead of your ears could be so finely tuned. It dosent seem like I am hearing them its more like a stereo in my head. Only way to describe it is its like an over track in a movie. While some headphones have better sound I don’t know if I could ever go back to regular hearing headphones.

  • Tech Throwback : Wolfenstein 3D

    Tech Throwback : Wolfenstein 3D

Its that time of the week I like to take a look at where I’ve been to evaluate where Im going. Technology is cyclical after all… wait no its not. That said I still like all the feels that come rushing back like a flood of nostalgia every time I get my hand on the tech I grew up with. I’m going to go back periodically and take a looking at the stuff that used to blow our hair back and get our minds rolling. Some of these device blew up and changed the world, some where ahead of their time and some just fell flat and became colossal failures. Today, with all the political non-sense going on, I am feeling the need to destroy some socialist. Let whip out the original PC gaming  legend Wolfenstein 3D.

    The Original First-Person Shooter

Wolfenstein 3D is the first hardcore and bloody first-person shooter video game developed by id Software. Original released date of May 5, 1992 for MS-DOS and inspired by the classic 4 bit castle Wolfenstein. Wolfenstein 3D is the third and greatest installment in the Wolfenstein series. In Wolfenstein 3D, the player assumes the role of Allied spy William “B.J.” Blazkowicz during World War II as he escapes from the Nazi German prison Castle Wolfenstein and carries out a series of crucial missions against the evil socialist Nazis. Make your way through each of the game’s levels to find an elevator to the next level or kill a final boss, fighting Nazi soldiers, dogs, and other enemies with knives and a variety of guns.

This was a PC game mega hit. Wolfenstein 3D really was a critical and commercial success. With its numerous awards and selling over 200,000 copies by the end of 1993, it was a video game legend. It is credited with popularizing the sport of first-person shooter genre and establishing the standard of fast-paced action and technical prowess for many subsequent games in the genre, as well as showcasing the viability of the shareware publishing model at the time. There are an additional two episodes for the game, and Apogee released a pack of over 800 fan-created levels

    Lets Play Wolfenstein 3D Again

I’m really excited to fire this baby back up. There is no eBay hoops to jump through for this tech throwback. Not today, Wolfenstein 3D can be easily downloaded from stream and installed on any computer post 1991. I step back in to this an instantly become an wide eyed 12 year old boy set to take on the freaking socialist. The graphics are slow and ridiculous. The back round and wall tapestries are so basic and glorious. Don’t forget to check each one for hidden doors.

The controls are pretty basic, I almost think intuitive but then I have to consider that this is the bases of controls for all first person shooters and trained us all on theses commands. Left Mouse Button: Fire Gun, Right Mouse Button (while held) while moving the mouse from right to left, Strafe to the left and right. Middle Mouse Button: Open doors, activate elevator exit switches, open secret doors, etc..

I love that there are just 4 distinct weapons, Knife, Pistol, Machine Gun and Chain gun. The Chain gun rules this game. This is my favorite weapon of all time in the Wolfenstein game. This weapon fires numerous shots in a short matter of time. Use this baby on both the non-boss and boss enemies as this weapon will tear anything away in its destructive path. The chain gun’s first appearance is in Episode 1 – Floor 2 so be sure to grab it in the early
    levels. I love this weapon

    The Final Wolfenstein 3D Thought

The game ends as The General gasps his last breath, and the free world is safe from the terrifying socialist Nazi chemical war. You return to Allied Headquarters, a Medal of Honor waiting for you. Then Allied command informs you of some nefarious activities around Castle Hollehammer. Something about some gray-skinned berserk soldiers…I can still here my dad bragging to his buddies about my 93% kill ratio.

  • Facebook is Now Scoring Users Facebook Trustworthiness

Facebook is Now Scoring Users Facebook Trustworthiness

Brace yourself people, things are about to get weird. Not weird in the fun British way, no, weird as in Mark Zuckerberg becoming the Orwellian dictator we have long feared. Facebook Inc (FB.O) has started scoring its users based on their Facebook trustworthiness in an attempt to fight misinformation. Facebook has started evaluating the trustworthiness of its users by assigning them with reputation scores from zero to one when they report news articles as being false.

According to a masked anonymous Facebook Executive, “What we’re actually doing: We developed a process to protect against people indiscriminately flagging news as fake and attempting to game the system.” They later stated “The reason we do this is to make sure that our fight against misinformation is as effective as possible.”

    Whats My Trustworthy Score Facebook?

From what we have come to understand, Facebook sends news articles reported as false to third-party fact checkers to verify. They began a year ago using this “trustworthiness rating” to help judge the reliability of the person flagging the disputed news articles. I think we have all seen these polls on the FB already. So If someone routinely falsely flags news articles later found to be accurate, it reduces their credibility the next time they dispute an article. Facebook would not comment on the fate of untrustworthy users at this time. However they did say that If a Facebook user routinely accurately flags false news, that person’s score improves. Other signals are used to evaluate users when they flag articles as false, but Facebook won’t say what they are because it does not want people rigging their Facebook trustworthiness scores.

I have a lot of questions that just seem to lead to fears. In just what way are they to obtain their Facebook trustworthiness rating. What could they possibly use for criteria? Is it going to be based on the same liberal agenda they have been picking the news headlines? Are they going to take notes from communist China’s incredibly invasive and creepy “social credit” system, which analyzes online habits and assigns citizens a score.

    The Final Facebook Trustworthiness Thought

Yes this It’s a mystery. You can’t see your Facebook trustworthiness score or anyone else’s. I think I need to see my score. I mean I think I’m trustworthy but I need Facebook’s validation for this to be sure. Facebook says it’s important to remember: this is a score for misinformation, not for anything else on Facebook. Also that this is just one in a number of indicators that Facebook relies on.

Swallow that pill if you would like, but I have just been to the puppet show and have seen the strings. Zucks and his global Zionist have been lobbying for a one world government for ions. We never gave it much credibility because the logistics just weren’t there. Then today happened and we are realizing its already in place and its far too late. The Terminator didn’t stop 1984 from happening, they only delayed it… to 2004. Like a line from a very bad comic book  “only Trump can save us now”.

  • The New 5G Network Will Evolve the World Part 5

The New 5G Network Will Evolve the World Part 5

Wow what a week it has been, we found out a lot about this new 5g network. You now know we are on the cusp of the next big jump in human evolution. We know now how, where, when, who and why of the new 5G Network. Yes, we open Pandora’s box and now our fall down the rabbit hole is reaching an abrupt end. So what is next? Next? The future of the new 5G network.

In this 5th part of the 5 part break down we are going to take a Snow-white like look into our futures. 5G connectivity is coming, and faster then you would expect. We know when and we know what it can do, and where it will take us. Let’s talk about the real fun stuff, where we will take the new 5G Network. Here is the 3 big theoretical things we will discuss and try to grasp as we think of what we can do with this extreme capabilities. Time Travel, Space travel, and Medical operations/Cyborgs.

    Space Travel

First up Space travel, This is already In place. NASA’s Ames Research Center is teaming with the often sinister-sounding Machine-to-Machine Intelligence Corporation (m2mi) to create a global networking system using small satellites they call “nanosats.” The organizations say their nanosats will be developed with a fifth generation (or 5G) communication system — which includes VoIP, video, data, and wireless transmissions. This will in increase the data and earth bound communications of vessel ships that we send for colonization. Keeping in contact with earth will be crucial to the survival and thrival of exploration colonies.

Elon Musk, Yes!, Elon Musk has been batting around the idea of a “space internet” for years, initially proposing it as a way to connect SpaceX’s Martian colonists. In the near-term, the system can be adapted to deliver easy, continuous access to base stations around Earth, providing simple connectivity to the planet’s most remote communities. A proposal filed in November shows how the system would actually work: 4,425 satellites in non-geostationary orbit traveling in a tightly choreographed ballet 700 miles above the surface of the Earth, keeping at least one satellite 40 degrees above the horizon at nearly every spot on Earth. This is set for implementation with the new 5G network.

The big take away here is that we are already working with the new 5G network in space, when we get this tech and connectivity in the hands of the next generation they are going to find ways to take us further, faster and deeper in to space then we can comprehend. Not to mention the first Hotel in space will provide WiFi via the 5G network.

Cyborgs On the New 5G Network

With super-efficient, super-fast technology like 5G, wearables should start to take on a whole new role in our lives. Large batteries will be a thing of the past and it’s a good thing too, this will power cybernetic human components. The idea of a cyborg — a human-machine hybrid — is common in science fiction and although the term dates back to the 1960s it still generates a lot of curiosity. Our merger with machines is already happening. We replace hips and other parts of our bodies with titanium and steel parts. More than 50 000 people have tiny computers surgically implanted in their heads with direct neural connections to their cochleas to enable them to hear. In the testing stage, there are retina microchips to restore vision and motor implants to give quadriplegics the ability to control computers with thought. Robotic prosthetic legs, arms, and hands are becoming more sophisticated.

The dawn is approaching and that day will bring human enhancements not just medical replacements. We will see people upgraded perfectly working eyes and ears for cyberneticly enhanced options. At some point it will be beneficial for human to have artificial enhancements, leaving un enhanced humans inferior to their upgraded counterparts. See the extinction of Homo- Neanderthals if you need to know what happens next. It will not take 1000s of years this time, I would say 3-4 generations.

    Time Travel

Time travel — moving between different points in time — has been a popular topic for science fiction for decades. Not all scientists believe that time travel is possible. Some even say that an attempt would be fatal to any human who chooses to undertake it. General relativity also provides scenarios that could allow travelers to go back in time, according to NASA anyways.

The equations, however, might be difficult to physically achieve, especially with the limits of our computer and networking power. While time travel does not appear possible — at least, possible in the sense that the humans would survive it — with the physics that we use today, the field is constantly changing. However if you take the advances in quantum theory and extrapolate the vast capabilities of the new 5G network some kid somewhere trying to power his next gen Xbox will make a huge time paradox discovery that will baffle and change and evolve the world forever. Yes there is it, The new 5G network will evolve the world.

  • The Latest MoviePass Update

    The Latest MoviePass Update

Here we go again, I got another one of those update emails from MoviePass CEO. This is the latest MoviePass update and it is  changing it’s service yet again. This time they say it is for good, I have my doubts. In this MoviePass Update it will significantly limit which films its customers can see on any given day.

The letter the company began sending out today said that as it transitions to the new subscription plan it began imposing yesterday — limiting monthly subscribers to just three films per month — it will offer a limited selection of movies and showtimes each day. “During this transition period, MoviePass will offer up to six films to choose from daily, including a selection of major studio first-run films and independent releases,” said the letter. “In addition, showtime availability may be limited depending on the popularity of those films on the app that particular day.”

You can see what films are available on MoviePass’ website and the company says it will publish its daily lists at least a week in advance. The schedules available now, which run through August 26th, list seven movie options each day but the site notes that all movie titles, not just the limited selection, are available at e-ticketing locations.

Darth Lowe’s Quote On The Latest MoviePass Update

When we called MoviePass CEO Mitch Lowe about the Latest MoviePass update, his only response was “ I have altered the deal, pray I don’t alter it any further”. OK then… This deal is getting worse all the time. Whilst I know there is a big transition to be made to salvage this service I have become addicted to, MP seems to just be cutting any reasonable reason to keep the service. Making it only appealing to indie movie lovers that frequently visit the theater. It’s unfortunate but where I live any Wes Anderson movie is considered indie and can barely get a screen.

Wall Street has largely pulled the plug on the company, which in late July attempted to increase its price. They are trying to avert being delisted from the Nasdaq with a reverse 250-to-1 stock split. The unshuted plummet continues anyways. The shares at close Thursday down 6.5 percent at 3 cents. Earlier this week, shareholders of MoviePass’ parent company Helios and Matheson Analytics filed a lawsuit against the company claiming “there was no reasonable basis to even imply that the MoviePass business model could lead to profitability.”

    The Final Thought

Much like me you are very disappointed by this latest MoviePass Update and have decided to cancel your subscription. You think let them work out the issues and come back when they are ready for you right? Wrong. I was greeted with a new lovely message. This is informing me that if I cancel I will not be able to resubscribe for 9 months. In 9 Months the next MoviePass like subscription, impregnated by MoviePass itself, will be ready for birth. Make sense soon MoviePass, The Emperor will not be as forgiving as I am.

  • A Google One Subscription and I Didnt Even Know It

A Google One Subscription and I Didnt Even Know It

Way, way back, all the way to a few months ago, Google announced Google One. Their new subscription program for getting more Google Drive storage and other increasable but not Amazon Prime deals and subscriptions. Remember this? Me either, but Over the course of the last few weeks, Google slowly rolled existing Drive subscribers over to a Google One membership and starting today, new users can sign up for a One subscription, too. I attempted to sign up, only to find I had signed up years ago while testing an android phone. Apparently Google got me on a $1.99 service for 50 GB of extra cloud service and I have been paying this for almost 3 years with no Idea.

    Google One, Google Drive

Google has been slowly upgrading existing paid Google Drive users like me to One over the past few months. Then today came and now is the first time people will be able to sign up for One rather than getting Drive and then being upgraded at random. Oh happy day. Google One plans start at 100 GB for $1.99. There’s also a 200 GB tier for $2.99 and a 2 TB option for $9.99. If you need even more storage space, Google will happily sell you 10 TB, 20 TB and 30 TB plans for between $99.99 and $299.99 per month.

One nice feature of these new plans is that you can share your storage allotment with up to five family members. For another unrelated reason One subscribers can get deals on hotels when you search for them in Google Maps. Google also gave all One members credits on Google Play and the company today said that it’ll soon offer members deals for purchases in the Google Store and through Google Express. Ok Google you apparently have had my subscription for years now and now you have my attention.

    The Final Thought

One thing did perk my ears and get my mind rolling. With the family sharing feature that will let the main account holder designate and assign out invitations to family members who in turn can use as much data as they want. The option makes for a more effective use of storage. This means, I can buy the 200 GB plan, upload my movie collection of 100 GB. I can then allow invited “family” members to access it and also designate them out storage to hold their video libraries. Thus giving me access to it. Ok so who is purchasing SOLO?

Some of these device blew up and changed the world, some where ahead of their time and some just fell flat and became colossal failures. A stroll down memory lane with the phone everyone and everyone’s mom had. The Nokia 5100 series

    The Original Nokia 5100 Series

Nokia 5100 Series is a Nokia GSM mobile phone model that was consuming the US market in 1998.  The main culprit of this explosion of tech was The Nokia 5110 was rugged, had excellent battery life, and featured an 84 by 48 pixel monochrome LCD with four LED back lights, operated by the Philips PCD8544 display controller.  This was also one of the first mobile phones to feature the game Snake. It became one of the most popular phones of its era. The Nokia 5110 was discontinued in 2001, replaced by other smaller and lighter device

    It Was Free!

The big reason for the massive success of this Nokia 5100 series is the fact the carriers where forcing down out throats for free, or $.01 with a 2 year contract. Great right? will not so much the $250 subsidy cost built in to the cost of your plan at $25 a month was hardly a good deal. We didn’t care, everyone had one and everyone else was envious.

    Customization of  Faceplates

The Nokia 5100 series was one of the first mobile telephones with a replaceable faceplate. Nokia called them “express plates” . This was a concept they incorporated into several other consumer-oriented cellphones aimed at the young adult market, allowing users to customize their device. I was big on this, I was the guy that would “pimp out your phone”. People across town would pay me to make their phones “da bomb”. With about $3 in parts from china I could replace your phones face plate with a glow in the dark face, add a light up led antenna and a vibrating clear battery and add a few of the hottest ringtones. It was all the rage of 1999- 2001 and I would charge up to $50 for this service. It was a new century and I was flush with success.

    The Final Though

Basic as fudge. Nokia 5100 series, It’s the original basic. Text was a coming soon feature, it could call and program up to 50 numbers in your phone book that is it. Not only could you make or receive a call anywhere you are but because of its success and desirable price point every one could. Thus the cell generation was born and like that answering machines died over night. Tune in next week when we talk about the tape based answering machine.
