  • Futuristic Cyberpunk 2077 Could Be Future of Video Games

Futuristic Cyberpunk 2077 Could Be Future of Video Games

Acclaimed developer CD Projekt Red is fresh off the success of the Witcher 3, their farewell to the long-running fantasy RPG. At E3 this year, they had a new game to show off: futuristic RPG Cyberpunk 2077. The game looks like it could very well represent the future. Not just the future our flawed world is barreling into headlong, but the future of gaming. At the E3 demo, it seemed that anything the player chooses to do its possible. The promise of games like Deus Ex and Thief, of a completely immersive simulation, could be getting closer to reality.

    Bloodstains Under Neon

Since William Gibson first wrote Neuromancer in 1984, the Cyberpunk genre has been synonymous with sex and violence. In that monumental work, protagonist Case is pulled into a web of crime, lies and violence by a beautiful, dangerous woman named Molly Millions. In that violent work, our heroes are hardly better than our villains, and the only lines dividing them are perspective. CD Projekt Red’s new game shares that spirit. The world is mean and neon and dirty, looking to chew up and consume any who take a wrong turn. If you’ve ever seen Blade Runner, you know the feeling they’re going for.

    Fully Immersive

Looking cool and being powerful are all a core aspect of the cyberpunk fantasy, and this game seems to know how to deliver in that regard. Protagonist V is almost entirely in the player’s hands. The character’s backstory, skills and style are all up to the player. Clothing options can change your look and increase your stats. V is also a cyborg, so you can enhance your protagonist by upgrading various cybernetic parts. The developers have crafted a fully immersive world using the visual language of the cyberpunk genre.

Every action you can take, from driving to hacking to just conversing, is promised to have wide-ranging impact on the game’s world. If you go for a drive and hit a pedestrian, you’ll not only get heat from the police, but you’ll also be known as a careless and violent jerk to the people of Night City. Carefully considering one’s actions and reputation seems to be a core gameplay mechanic, one that truly fits in an immersive RPG.

When Can We Get Hands-On with Cyberpunk 2077?

We’re asking the same question, dear reader, and, sadly, we don’t know. But you can rest assured we’ll let you know as soon as we find out. Heck, we’ll be the first in line to buy the game whenever it does drop! It’s still early, but the game already looks like a contender for one of the greatest RPGs of all time.

  • Composer for Captain Marvel First Woman to Compose MCU Film

Composer for Captain Marvel First Woman to Compose MCU Film

Marvel’s Cinematic Universe has been dominating the box office and critically acclaimed. The universe the films take place in feels huge and limitless, and viewers can always expect to be wowed and inspired by Marvel’s outings. From talking raccoons to gods duking it out, anything seems possible in the MCU. Well, except a woman leading a film. Until Captain Marvel, that is. Captain Marvel, one of the company’s biggest names, will star in her own feature film next year. The film’s composer, Pinar Toprak, will be the first woman composing a film in the MCU, too.

    Pinar Toprak’s Stellar Resume

Toprak is no slouch, either; Marvel fans can rest easy knowing she’s got some serious compositional chops. The Captain Marvel composer has previously composed scores for Syfy’s Krypton series, another sci-fi comic book outing. Superman and Captain Marvel both have similar powers and settings. As such, providing the score for a super-powered space-traveler will come naturally to Toprak! Toprak also did the score for the smash-hit video game Fortnite, which you may have heard of by now.

    Captain Marvel in the MCU

Brie Larson will play Captain Marvel, real name Carol Danvers. The film is being directed by the duo of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, and is set to be the 21st in the MCU. Her film will be set in the 1990’s and will act as an origin story and introduction.

In the comics, Carol inherits the mantle of Captain Marvel from an alien superhero named Mar-Vell. As such, comic fans are excited to see how this version of the character gets her name and powers. Oddly, Mar-Vell is part of the Kree race of aliens. (We saw them in Guardians of Galaxy; Ronan the Accuser is one.) Fans are eager to know if Danvers is the first Captain Marvel of her world, or if she inherits the mantle from another character. We’ll know for sure when her solo outing lands on March 8th, 2019!

  • PS4 Fortnite Players Locked from Playing on Switch

PS4 Fortnite Players Locked from Playing on Switch

Sony has been a notorious opponent of cross-platform play. Most recently, Sony has slammed the door shut on cross-platform play with the mega-popular Fortnite on their system. Fortnite players on Xbox One and Switch can’t play with their friends on PS4 and vice-versa. PS4 players can, however, play with players on iOS and PC. The worst part isn’t the cross-platform play, though, it’s Sony’s absurd account lockout policy.

    Sony Holding Fortnite Accounts Hostage

Against the advice of literally every industry analyst, Sony has declared outright war on the concept of playing nice with Nintendo and Microsoft. After Fortnite’s Switch launch on June 12th, a number of Switch owners were stunned to see they couldn’t link their Epic accounts to their Switch. If you’ve paired your Epic account with the PlayStation 4, you’re locked out from linking it on the Switch. Or the Xbox One, for what it’s worth, but most people hadn’t ever tried to jump from the Xbox to PS4. Gamers were understandably outraged, though, as Sony had given no indication that accounts linked to the PS4 version of the game would be locked from future ports of the game.

    Sony’s Response to Criticism

Sony has been frustratingly evasive on this matter. When asked directly about it, they elected to boast about user numbers on their platform. Classy, Sony. While Epic has given no indication yet of how they will handle this issue, Nintendo was quick to apologize to their affected fans. Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America, expressed how he wished Nintendo could help, but the issue is out of their hands. Sony has chosen to enter this battle unbidden, purposefully alienating PS4 owners who also have a Switch.

For context, Switch and Xbox owners are able to play with any system that has the game, except, of course, PS4. The only thing standing between the world’s most popular game and full cross-platform play across all systems is Sony. This is really a shame, as the company is  driving a wedge between the game’s community over stubbornness.

    What Can Be Done?

Sadly, for the time being, it seems that there is nothing affected users can do. If a user were to make a new account, they could play on Switch. However, their progress and any real-world money spent on their account would be locked on the PS4.

Perhaps Epic could allow users to migrate their accounts as a one-time service. Perhaps allowing users to remove PlayStation markers from their account and move to Xbox or Switch. Doing so would be in direct opposition to Sony. However, it would be a reasonable act in light of Sony’s unprecedented stubborn attitude. Until more news breaks, though, PS4 Fortnite users who want to play on Switch are left with few options. That, and a great deal of frustration at Sony.

  • 5 Game Releases From E3 That Are a Must Play

5 Game Releases From E3 That Are a Must Play

This was considered by most to be a week year at the E3 conference. Expectations going in where low to begin with and nothing earth shattering or even mildly interesting was revealed. What we did get is a ton of really amazing games. An endless supply of games were announced and they all look pretty great. Lets take a look at the biggest and best 5 Game Releases we will be playing all next year.

    1. Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Finally we get what we wanted from Nintendo, and may have to go purchase a switch just for this. Nintendo Switch’s first “Smash Bros. was a classic hit, but Ultimate will be enev bigger. Yes, every character that’s ever appeared in a “Smash Bros.” is here (that’s over 60, including rarities like “Metal Gear’s” Solid Snake). Nintendo has really stepped up the combat and evolved every character to have the Ultimate moves, stages and animations. This will ensure “Ultimate” is the best, visually amazing, craziest and quickest “Smash” to date. This will be the game that keeps droves of children occupied this holiday season.

    2. Spiderman

Just titled Spiderman and set for a Sept 7th release,  Sony and Insomniac’s “Spider-Man” is exploding with excitement and hitting number 2 on our top 5 Game Releases, The WebCrawlers latest installment  is going to be fantastic in its actions, NYC renderings and non stop Spidery action. Not to mention the best activity is still just swinging around over the Manhattan skyline, which will be greatly enhanced.  Bringing an “Arkham”-like combat system, impressive voice work and ridiculously cinematic battles, and endless parade of villains. This is  shaping up to be the best superhero games we’ve ever played. It’s also wowed a certain comic company: Marvel was so impressed with Insomniac’s work, they’re including the video game version of Spidey in their official canon. Hurry up and get here Sept 7th, im seriously pondering the Eric Cartman freezing my self idea.

    3. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Assassin’s Creed Origins was a magnificent success for Ubisoft, so much it decided to just take the leap  and blast out the next AC into a full-blown role-playing game for our enjoyment. For us, This one will be set during the Peloponnesian War in Greece, “Assassin’s Creed Odyssey” lets players choose genders, bulk up tons of stats, collect gear and goodies and even shape the story with new branching dialogue options. This is shaping up to take Assassins Creed to the next level of immersion and action. Ill be pre-ording this one ASAP. Its hard not to have this as the number 1 game on the 5 Game Releases list.

    4. CyberPunk 2077

After three games of high fantasy, via an adaptation of The Witcher series, CD Projekt Red is starting up a new franchise in a completely different genre. It’s full of big ideas and promises huge amounts of customisation and individuality when it comes to your character and play-style. Cyberpunk 2077 is a role-playing video game played in a first-person perspective as V, a mercenary whose sex, hairstyles, face, body type, body modifications, background, and clothing are customisable. V’s clothing alters how interactions fare with non-player characters who are also at V’s disposal for romantic and sexual relationships. This looks to be the game we never saw coming, totally innovative and set to really blow us away, like the original resident evil did many years ago. This will be the game all the cool kids will be talking about around the water cooler.

    5. Fallout 76

number 5 on our top 5 Game Releases for 2018…Who doesnt love Fallout? Who hasent been anticipating the next Fallout installment? Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of Skyrim and Fallout 4, welcomes us all to Fallout 76, the online prequel where every surviving human is a *real person*. Work together – or not – to survive. Under the threat of nuclear annihilation, you’ll experience the largest, most dynamic world ever created in the legendary Fallout universe.

  • Beau’s No. 1 App Review: Hole.io

    Beau’s No. 1 App Review: Hole.io

Beau’s App series. Each week, I install whatever is the No. 1 bestselling app on the iOS or Android store and review it, to save you the effort in case it’s total waste of life. This week a game called Hole.io is in the top spot and we are gonna talk about it. Why isn’t it No. 1? not sure, its a very simple and basic game but it’s free. So let take a look and see what has this game rocketing to the top of the charts.

The latest twist on multiplayer growth game “Agar.io” has arrived, with “Hole.io,” from French publisher Voodoo. Enter the arena and face the other holes in a fierce battle. you go head to head with 8 other live players. The goal is to eat everything in sight, including other holes to increase your size and consume larger object. Eat everything in sight with your black hole and expand it to eat more! Show them who is the biggest hole in town!

So far I have enjoyed this game immensely, much more than I expected that I would. Its fun challenging and addictive. When Hole.io becomes bigger, its strength to pull other things becomes much more powerful.  Hole.io is easy to use yet very funny to play. What I enjoy is its a 2 min time investment, its quick fun, easy and challenging at the same time. 8 Players 2 mins…go.

    Good App Not Great

While I have enjoyed the game a lot over the past few days, I do have some beefs and Id like to address them now. This is a good game but few minor improvements and this can be a great game and hit universal popularity. First, I need different modes. Size and Time variation to choose from. Its only been a few days and I feel like I have seen all there is to be seen. Second, some new maps would be great, right now there is only one. Spice it up with some new maps or even mock ups of real cities. Go obscure with it, instead of New York, DC and LA. Let me play Tucson, Daytona Beach and Bend, OR. Let me eat a city I’ve never been to and haven’t seen in a video game a billion times. Lastly, address the lag and lack of speed, make my hole faster and fix the lagging.

    The Final Thought

This game has blown up on the scene in just a month. It fun, entertaining and has a ton of potential.

  • Microsoft HoloLens 2 Could Be The VR Evolution

Microsoft HoloLens 2 Could Be The VR Evolution

They Said it, we know it, the Microsoft HoloLens 2 is coming. As itis said, It will arrive packing Qualcomm’s powerful XR1 chipset that’s designed for the next gen VR and AR experiences.

In the guts of the Microsoft HoloLens 2 augmented/mixed-reality headset is stated to be an amazing and unexpected appearance of Qualcomm’s own XR1 VR chip. The Processor we thought was possible but seemed only plausible in theory. The processor isn’t technically as powerful as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, but according to all the information we have on the XR1 so far, it’s made for and capable of running the next gen VR headsets. The hardware itself is said to be coming to the market starting in early 2019.

Qualcomm states that the XR1 is capable of streaming content at 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. This would certainly elevate the new HoloLens 2 to the top of the VR headset charts and dethrone the Oculus. The Microsoft HoloLens could re-invent the standard for the movie experience.

Virtual and augmented reality headsets need to get cheaper and better to arouse casual buyers beyond hardcore gamers and tech geeks. We know the Oculus gets it, for just a mere $200. The current generation of Microsoft’s own headset, the HoloLens, starts at $3000. While its mostly for developers, the next generation needs lower price to be commercially viable.

    The Final Thought

VR is set to explode, who wants to go first. The company that can get all the intricate pieced together and put out the headset that works great, easy to use and universally compatible with some jaw dropping experiences will get to rule the VR world. The platform is set the battle is open but no one seems to want to make a run at it. So they all know something we don’t ? I sure hope so and im not just standing here holding my breath for no reason. Come one Microsoft HoloLens 2, change my world… my VR world.

  • You Need to be Comfortable to Play Your Best! Which are the Best Gaming Chairs?

You Need to be Comfortable to Play Your Best! Which are the Best Gaming Chairs?

If you’re rocking a sweet new gaming rig, chances are you’re going to be sitting in front of it for a while. And if you’re going to be gaming, you should do it in comfort! With what in mind, we’ve got a list of some of our favorite gaming chairs!

X Rocker Pro Series Pedestal 2.1

X Rocker makes an interesting, banana-shaped design chair that comes with some pretty awesome features. First, it looks like an awesome sci-fi piece of furniture and would match with most gaming setups. Second, it has two speakers and a subwoofer! The sound system is connected to a wireless receiver, so you don’t have to run cords to it, keeping your walkway clear. It’s also huge, cushioned and super comfortable, with big arm rests. If you like the design and speakers, it’s a great choice! The X Rocker retails for around $190.

    Merax Racing Style Gaming Chair

If you’re looking for something a bit more traditional-looking, this $115 chair from Merax is a bit more subdued than most racing-style chairs. It doesn’t have many bells or whistles, but it’s big, comfortable and looks pretty cool. If you want to split the difference between traditional office chair and full-on gaming chair, this is a good compromise. It’s quite comfortable, and rather affordable for such a high-end chair! If you’re in the market for a better computer chair but don’t want to look too much like a gamer, this is a good option.

The Best of the Gaming Chairs: Vertagear Racing Series SL4000

The $340 Vertagear is a favorite of Twitch stars and pro gamers. It’s easy to see why: it offers great support, it’s comfortable, and it looks great. It has a ton of different color options and looks right at home in any gaming battle station. If you’ve always wondered which high-end gaming chair is the best, our recommendation goes to Vertagear. It’s a little hard to assemble, but once you have it together you won’t be disappointed. Featuring firm cushions and an ergonomic design, the Vertagear is a great choice for a serious gamer. We recommend setting it so that you’re sitting in a nice, upright position with good posture. This helps ensure you don’t experience back or shoulder pain during long gaming sessions!

  • Avengers and X-Men Crossover in Danger? AT&T Time Warner Takeover

Avengers and X-Men Crossover in Danger? AT&T Time Warner Takeover

We really want to see Wolverine going toe-to-toe with the Hulk. Or Reed Richards and Tony Stark talking shop. Or Thor and Storm making sparks together. Really, we just want all the Marvel characters to come together on the big screen. And we’re so close! Disney has but in a bid to buy 20th Century Fox. But this darn AT&T ruling could really mess it up.

    Comcast and Fox

Marvel Comics owns the rights to all of their characters, of course. They can create comic books, television shows and pretty much anything they want with their characters. But they sold the film rights to a ton of them to other companies in the late 90’s. Sony owns the film rights to Spider-Man, for instance, and Fox has the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four. However, the House of Mouse owns Marvel now. And they want their stuff back.

Disney put in a bid to purchase Fox last year for an absurd $54.2 billion in Disney stock. Comcast, seeing dollar signs, decided that they, too, wanted to buy Fox. But they put their plans on hold. See, A&T, for their part, was in court defending their attempt to acquire Time Warner.

    AT&T Won that Case

And then AT&T won their case, and the regulatory board is likely to allow their acquisition. This gives Comcast a pretty clear-cut course to acquiring Fox. Fox, for their part, seemed hesitant to go for the Comcast offer, even though it was higher than Disney’s because it was uncertain if the deal would pass a regulatory board.

Now that there’s proof that such a merger can pass the board, Fox might just take the deal. This would spell disaster for our dreams of an Avengers and X-Men crossover. Which would be a serious shame. We just want to see Captain America and Professor Xavier exchanging tips for leading groups of super-powered people! And maybe have Scarlett Witch meet the X-Men film version of Quicksilver so she can have her mind blown! Okay, that one’s not happening anyway, but we can dream! In the meantime we’ll just have to read Marvel comics if we want to see the two super-teams cross paths!

  • Microsoft Announces Xbox Scarlett

    Microsoft Announces Xbox Scarlett

Taking the stage at the E3, Microsoft was quickly confirmed that it was designing new Xbox hardware. Microsoft Xbox Scarlett, but when can I play it? looks like it will be a lot sooner then originally planned. Our sources have claimed that the next-gen Xbox, nicknamed Scarlett, should launch sometime in 2020. I’m guessing probably late q3 early q4 for the holiday rush.  We havent got any technical details yet, however it’s they are touting this as a “family of devices”. I hope they can find a way to bridge the console with PC gaming and make it a one stop experience.

    What Could Xbox Scarlett Be?

The timing, if accurate, may seem unusually quick given that the Xbox One X only launched near the end of 2017. Microsoft has done slot to improve the Xbox One but it falls short of driving sales, most xboxers would just as easily go with an upgradeable gaming PC then buy a new xbox every 2 -3 years.  A Xbox Scarlett launch in 2020 might be necessary to keep pace. If Microsoft can complete that bridge and supplying me with the solo immersive and higher quality of pc gaming, with the flexibility of moving to the TV for multiplayer action and gathering, while facilitating the component upgrading to keep systems current, They may just stumble upon the next generation of inspiring gamers.

While we don’t know when Sony is planning to release PlayStation 4’s successor. The company’s current system continues to far outsell the Xbox One. Recent sales estimates put the system’s total sales at around double that of the Xbox One, which can be attributed to a better library of exclusive games and the PR struggles Microsoft had with the Xbox One back in 2013.

    The Final Thought

We know Xbox Scarlett is a working coded name. I’m really hoping they through us a left hook and just name it Xbox 2. I wish we had something more concrete to bring you. Specs, picture leaks, Rumors and speculations.. But relax, we will feed you baby birds, as soon as the info develops. As for now we wait…impatiently might I add

  • The Ten Coolest Games Showcased at E3 2018

The Ten Coolest Games Showcased at E3 2018

With Nintendo’s Direct in the books, the E3 2018 press conferences have now wrapped. There were some huge reveals from all the major players. Let’s check out some of the hottest games showcased during the show!

    Gears of War 5

As one of Microsoft’s flagship franchises, Gears of War has had some serious longevity. The newest entry focuses on Kait Diaz, pictured above. Kait was first introduced in Gears 4 and is a refreshing change from the monotonous macho-man mayhem the series is known for. The trailer Microsoft showed featured colorful new vistas and an arctic environment. Previous entries were criticized for their gray-and-brown color pallet, so it’s nice to see some color in the series. The trailer also showed off some interesting new monsters for the protagonists to chew through. Get ready for war!

    Fallout 76

Few franchises command as much fanatic devotion as Fallout. After a teaser before the show, Bethesda unveiled more details during E3 2018. This time around, players will work together to make a settlement and defend it from monsters. Oh, and other players. In Fallout 76, all NPC are replaced by players. Those marauders looking for nuclear launch codes to wreck your settlement? Yeah, those are players. Go get ’em, hero! Or join them, if you want. Bethesda is giving players the freedom to adventure how they wish.

    Spider Man

Insomniac’s amazing-looking Spider Man game got a new trailer. In this game, things look rough for the web-slinger. The Raft, a floating prison for super-criminals, has had a prison break. Rhino, Scorpion, Vulture, Electro and Mister Negative are all teaming up to take down Spidey. The trailer showed off some Arkham Asylum-esque combat and fluid, fast-paced web-slinging. If any game is going to make you feel like Spider-Man, this is the one. Another killer exclusive for the PS4! Spider Man hits September 7th.

    Super Mario Party

One of Nintendo’s surprise reveals this year was Super Mario Party. Showcasing board game-like play with multiple Switch systems, the game seems perfect for the hybrid console. While it has been a few years since the last Mario Party, this one seems poised to revitalize the series. This outing will be bolstered by the flexible “go-anywhere” Switch hardware. Mario Party while camping? Sure! Game night at a friend’s house? Bring your Switch! Meeting some friends for lunch one lazy Sunday? Bring Mario Party and make an afternoon of it! Nintendo is really bringing the heat to Switch this holiday season. Super Mario Party is landing on October 5th.

    Halo Infinity

Halo, Microsoft’s juggernaut first-person shooter, was due for an appearance. The cutscene shown at the show looked absolutely incredible, but scant details about the story were shared. Apparently, the game will run in a new “Slipspace” Engine, designed from the ground up for Halo. The cutscene shown ran in that engine, which is assuring. While the game is likely still a year or two away, it looks exciting! Here’s hoping developer 343 Industries doesn’t repeat the narrative mistakes of Halo 5.

    Anthem

BioWare’s newest project looks like a serious contender for Bungie’s Destiny. The gameplay shown looks fast-paced and exciting, and the game is gorgeous. Many have reservations about the explosions-first direction, as developer BioWare has a history of story-based games. However, the trailers shown certainly reaffirm the tight, explosive gameplay looks fun. And why else play video games than to have fun? Not to mention, the latest attempt at a story-based game by the studio was a disaster. Mass Effect: Andromeda will forever remain a black spot on developer BioWare. Hopefully they can forge a new legacy with the promising-looking Anthem.

    Death Stranding

Hideo Kojima-led project Death Stranding still makes no sense, but it looks awesome. Featuring Norman Reedus of Walking Dead fame as the apparent protagonist, the game seems to be a horror-exploration hybrid. The trailers so far haven’t exactly explained the plot or why exactly the main character has a baby in a tank in stasis. That said, the trailers have all been quite gripping and intense. The trailer shown at Sony’s press conference showed gameplay footage that involved traversing a gorgeous, desolate open-world. The protagonist was also shown hiding from an invisible monster with hands for feet (apparently) and avoiding shadowy, human-like monsters. And those monsters have umbilical cords, for some reason. Yeah, the game looks weird. And I can’t wait to see more.

    Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

The latest entry in the long-running open-world series takes place in Hellenic Greece. Like, all of it. And a huge swath of the Mediterranean. It looks downright stunning, as one would expect from this series. This entry also introduces new RPG-like elements, allowing the player to shape the unfolding story. There are also now quests to engage in romance with NPCs, instead of just, y’know, stabbing them. With wrist-mounted knives. But don’t worry, there will still be tons of badies to shank.

    Beyond Good and Evil 2

Cult classic Beyond Good and Evil is finally getting a sequel! Well, a prequel, but, hey, we’ll take it. No gameplay or release dates yet, but the trailers confirm Jade and Pey’j will both return. Aside from the amazing-looking cinematic, though, we have scant few details on the game. However, Ubisoft seems dedicated to providing awesome experiences and really knocked it out of the park at E3 2018.

The Star of E3 2018: Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Easily the biggest game of the show, Smash Bros Ultimate promises the return of every character to ever grace the legendary series. Even Solid Snake and Pichu are back this time! Additionally, developer Masahiro Sakurai has promised this will be the biggest Smash Bros yet. The game has been made from the ground-up with new animations and mechanics for every fighter. Truly, the development team has been putting in crazy amounts of work. It looks like the game is walking the razor-thin balance of appealing to both competitive and casual players. Super Smash Bros Ultimate is sure to break records when it drops on December 7th.
