  • Suunto 3 Fitness Tracking For Everyone

Suunto 3 Fitness Tracking For Everyone

Sunnto 3 is More than just a fitness tracker, the optical heart rate-powered adaptive training and recovery advice make this a interesting consideration when looking at your smart tracking fitness enabled wrist accessory tracking device, got to be a better way to say that. There is, it’s a fitness watch for beginners. Today we are gonna rif a little on the Sunnto 3. A robust and smart fitness watch for training and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

    The Great

    • Impressive value
    • Good battery life
    • Simple adaptive training

    The Not

    • No GPS
    • App sync often fails
    • Strap can pinch

    The Conclusion

With optical heart rate-powered training plans and a sleek wear-it-everyday design, the 3 Fitness is Suunto’s attempt to bring some of its sports tracking skills to the masses but misses big key features.

The new Suunto 3 Fitness smartwatch looks like its trying to hit the sweet spot right in the middle, straddling the line between these two categories. The high-priced niche gadgets that serve only one specific audience or the do-it-all smartwatches that aim to give every type of exerciser something to love. It misses on both and fails to impress in the middle ground

    Its Got the Look

It comes in the basic two-tone hues (in Sakura pink, Ocean green, and black) for $199 or the more luxe all black or gold version at $229, you’re getting a good looking writ accessory. The watch is slimmer and lighter than you might expect from a company like Suunto, which typically packs a ton of tech onto the wrist with its devices, and it doesn’t dominate your entire forearm when you slip in on. Its sleeker, with a nice stunning round face. I like a round face smartwatch, but I like the apple watch better. We could go on about the looks but its easier to just look at the picture above. That is why its there.

    Where Suunto Misses

Ill start with what I do like about the Suunto. It has a feature that based on your fitness level and recorded training history, Suunto 3 Fitness creates a 7-day training plan with optimal duration and intensity for each exercise to improve your fitness. It has the activity, sleep, stress and heart rate tracking that are essential to a smart tracker. Its water resistant and gps enabled. It has the basics covered and thats it.

Compared to other Suunto models, like the Spartan Trainer Wrist HR, the 3 Fitness doesn’t have a built-in GPS unit or a touchscreen. You have to use the five buttons located around the watch face to navigate through settings, log a workout and see your training plan for the day. When charging, I found the battery to be a bit finicky. I had to clip and un-clip the charger a few times to get the watch to recognize it. Take that with a grain of salt though, since I was testing one of the first available models.

    The Final Thought

Its a poor swing an big miss. Nothing stand out or essential. The only people who will be rocking this are the ones that receive it as a gift.

  • Red Hydrogen One and a Release Date

Red Hydrogen One and a Release Date

Red Hydrogen One, lets talk about it. In 2017, the cinema camera making company RED announced it was working a smarthphone with a holographic screen Consumers were unsure what this meant until September 2017. Essentially, the phone would provide a 3D viewing experience on screen, projecting things like buildings and landscapes in an interactive map. A user could essentially take a virtual tour via the phone screen, looking around, above, behind, or in-between various objects. We did a brief info release on the Red Hydrogen One a few months back but lets look at some updates.

AT&T and Verizon announced today that they will carry the Red Hydrogen One, a strange, costly smartphone from a video camera company that’s garnered a lot of buzz on social media.

Red is showing off the phone at its Hollywood offices on May 19 and AT&T will demo it at its Shape conference on June 2. AT&T will release the phone later this summer, the carrier says. Verizon says the phone will come to that carrier “later this year.

“This revolutionary smartphone will provide you with significant advancements in the way you create and view content on the leading network for entertainment,” said Kevin Petersen, AT&T’s SVP of Device and Network Services Marketing. “When the Red Hydrogen One launches, you’ll be able to look around, below and into your screen’s image with a 4-view holographic display, which is even better than 3D.”

    Refresh My Memory

Back in March a gave you a little insight to what we know about the Red Phone. Its a powerful phone supporting an almost outdated Snapdragon 835 processor. ITs made by a high end Hollywood cameran manufacture. Now We have got a few more developments since we last talked about this phone. One is a feature called “four-view holographic” display. I cant really describe this but let me try to make it make sense.

    Four View Holographic Display

In 2D mode (normal cell phone) the display is completely as you would expect. 2560×1440 resolution. Fantastic color and brightness. In 4V mode (holographic), the screen dims a bit and out pops a “better than 3D” image… no glasses needed. Best I can say is RED is Red is describing a glasses-free 3D screen. We are going to need to see this a little more in depth

    The Final Thought

We are getting some big news here. We have the carriers, At&t and Verizon. We have something almost mind blowing in the feature department. We have a new to wireless company being very hush and ambiguous about its product. Lastly we have a Date, we’ll see it for real on June 2. Come back then when I do a full smartphone spotlight on the Red Hydrogen One.

  • OnePlus 6 Avengers Special Addition

    OnePlus 6 Avengers Special Addition

Im sure by now you have read our Smartphone spotlight on the OnePlus 6, gotten all the great details and may have even considered picking one up. Why wouldn’t you, its big, beautiful with all the power of Luke Cage. Well hold up, first off its not really easy to get in the states. They don’t just sell them at the Best Buy here, you have to order it off the internet from china. Now before you do that there is something else you should know, There is a special addition Avengers Infinity War OnePlus 6. If this has your spidey senses tingling check out the details.

The price is a meager $660, terrific deal even Peter Parker could afford. For that you will get the special edition 6, which is essentially the OnePlus 6 aside from a few cosmetic changes. There’s different textured back, that’s a “custom 3D aramid fiber-textured glass body, with Gorilla Glass 5 coating. It looks like something Shuri would have concocted. There is a well placed and stunningly official looking  Avengers and Marvel logo on the back of the phone, near the bottom. I like the way this phone looks like it was crafted elegantly from a blown off piece of Winter solders arm.

    Special Edition What

Yes,  its nice looking, what else makes this special. First off  you’re getting the 8GB/256GB RAM and storage combo if you’re buying the Avengers model. You’ll have to pay $660 for it a $31 premium over the regular model that offers the same specs. Besides it being really cool looking You also get a special retail box and a special case that has Iron Man’s mask printed on it. In each of these cool marvel boxes you get a special medal.

Tell Me More About this OnePlus 6 Avengers Medal

Yes ill do just that. This medal comes in the box. Yes each OnePlus 6 Avengers phone in each box contains a random Avengers medal. There are 6 random medals. Getting all six different medals by June 30th will get you into a draw for a 100,000 yuan ($15,700). You can’t get the medals you lack without buying additional OnePlus 6 Avengers phones. If your doing the math, you would have to spend a lucky $6,600 with a 1/36 chance of getting all different medals.

    The Final Thought

I love to geek out, for the 5T they released a Star Wars edition. For some reason the The Avengers: Infinity War edition featuring a Kevlar-style patterned back along with a gold Avengers emblem and color-matched mute switch seem so much cooler. I kinda want it, I just need 5 more of you to jump on this. We can combine the medals and maybe with the 100,000 yuan. In my best Captain America voice… Who is with me?

  • Surface, Its New Version and a Price Drop

Surface, Its New Version and a Price Drop

The Surface wants to compete with the ipad for a broader market, so look for a price drop. A new report out today by Bloomberg claims that Microsoft is planning its next tablet line to be lower-cost in an effort to attract people to their products who aren’t interested in the more expensive Surface Pro. The move is directly aimed at competing with Apple’s recently launched $329 iPad, and could see Microsoft debut the devices as soon as the second half of 2018.

    Low Cost Surface

From what I am hearing  the tablets will be priced at around $400, so not quite iPad cheap but not far off. They will be the first Surface devices to adopt USB-C and rounded edges “like an iPad,” instead of the square corners of the current devices. Storage tiers will include 64GB and 128GB, as well as LTE options, and the devices will feature 10-inch screens.  All good news.

There are also rumors of a significant decrease in battery power. While I cant confirm any yet and wont until it gets the Beau’s 6 hour injustice marathon battery test, I will say that the rumors holds some weight. Currently everyone has come to a 6.6 – 14 hour battery life estimate for the current models. What we have hear it the new cheaper tablet will be coming in around 4 hours less. Knocking four hours of battery off a tablet with a 13.5 hour runtime is bad. Knocking four hours of run time off a tablet with a 9.6 hour battery life is terrible. In fact, if that penalty carried over across the board, this new Surface tablet wouldn’t even break the three hour mark. Relax, ill continue to monitor and keep you updated.

    The Final Thought

Like always Apple steps in and delivers and the rest  of the tech world follow suit. follow suit. This is good new, a low cost Microsoft device is a great option for the marketplace. When the marketplace has diverse low cost options we all win.

  • Smartphone Spotlight: OnePlus 6

    Smartphone Spotlight: OnePlus 6

OnePlus’s deal has always been offering flagship-level internals coupled with minimalist software, all for significantly less than similarly-specked devices. The  6 has all the right stuff you’d expect Is the the 6 the smartphone you deserve?

    The Great

    • Beautiful Screen
    • Blistering performance
    • Great battery life
    • Flagship-caliber cameras
    • Very fast charging:
    • Amazing value
    • Beautiful all glass design

    The Not

    • No wireless charging or microSD slot
    • Lacks optical zoom
    • No IP-rated water resistance

    The Conclusion

If you’re willing to put up with a few small compromises then you could argue the OnePlus 6 could be even further up this list. One thing is for sure though: in terms of value for money it won’t disappoint.

It seems every six months or so OnePlus treats us to a new flagship level phone at a completely reasonable price. Most companies are struggling to put out something different enough every year. All that and all, lets get to this latest installment of OnePlus, the 6.

    The OnePlus Design

OnePlus has really showed up with the all-glass body  on the OnePlus 6. It looks and feels oh so nice: It’s soft and smooth, with a cool touch. It’s very reflective too, mostly on the mirror black model. I just like pressing it to my face. While I  don’t feel like the glass body made the phone overly slippery, and it’s easy to hold with one hand. Using it is a harder task due to the size of the screen. It’s a little harder to get to the opposite corner with your thumb.

    Three Colors

Mirror Black is one of three versions for the OnePlus 6. The glass is super-shiny and though it certainly does attract fingerprints, it’s not the smudge magnet you might have imagined. Midnight Black is color two: a matte finish  This is a more conventional-looking finish that will be especially familiar to owners of earlier OnePlus phones. Last is the Silk White: a classy option, for your tuxedo nights on the town look. It has a sprinkling of pearl powder as part of the six layers and emphasized by the rose gold edge, camera relief and OnePlus logo

    The Performance

The  6 is powered by the Snapdragon 845 processor with a whopping 8GB of RAM. The phone has been lightning fast in our brief time using it. It all feels very refined. OnePlus uses the tagline, “The speed you need,” for the 6, It seems cheese and completely unsustainable for an android base phone, but here we are. The power is good, lets just not get cocky.

For the Camera OnePlus has gone a more regular route, perhaps, by using two rear cameras, both color RGB sensors. One is a 16MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and big pixels 1.22 microns). It has optical image stabilization, something OnePlus fans had requested.

    Quick Spec Look

    • OS Android  8.1 Oreo with OxygenOS
    • Screen Size (Resolution) 6.28-inch AMOLED (2280 x 1080)
    • CPU Qualcomm Snapdragon 845
    • RAM 6GB/8GB
    • Storage 64GB/128GB/256GB
    • microSD Slot No
    • Rear Camera Dual: 16 MP (f/1.7) with OIS; 20 MP (f/1.7)
    • Front Camera 16 MP (f/2.0)
    • Battery Size 3,300 mAh
    • Water Resistance None
    • Size 6.13 x 2.97 x 0.30 inches

    The Final Thought

The 6 has all the Power, Size and Looks available to make a splash and a price point to be desired. There is nothing here truly lacking out side of the water resistance and the wireless charging, only thing I could do with out is the boasting.

  • Tech Throwback: Sony Walkman

    Tech Throwback: Sony Walkman

I like to take a look at where I’ve been to evaluate where Im going. Technology is cyclical after all… wait no its not. That said I still like all the feels that come rushing back like a flood of nostalgia every time I get my hand on the tech I grew up with. Im going to go back periodically and take a looking at the stuff that used to blow our hair back and get our minds rolling. Some of these device blew up and changed the world, some where ahead of their time and some just fell flat and became colossal failures. Today we are going to talk about the Sony Walkman

Walkman cassette player, released in 1979, changed music listening habits by allowing people to listen to their music whilst on the move. This could turn everyday tasks like commuting and running into pleasurable experiences. It gave commuters a sense of privacy, and add a soundtrack to urban surrounding. At the time a lightweight portable stereo system where that of future fantasy. Sony’s current portable option was the 5 lb TC-D5 and It was far to heavy and expensive to be revolutionary. We all just had to be content with listening to records in our basements. Then June 7th, 1980 happened, hello Walkman

little fun fact about the Walkman name, the Walkman name was thought to be too Japanese- English so it was called the soundabout in the US at first. It was nearly called the Disco-Jogger. Thank Thanos that didn’t happen, I can tell you the Disco- Jogger would not be getting its own Tech Throwback Spotlight…

    Sony Walkman, Just Press Play

So I found the original Sony Walkman, TPS-L2 , you know the one Starlord likes to listen to yacht rock on. Ive popped in some fresh double AA’s and I’m ready to pop open may old cassette collection.  First thing I notice on this is as I insert my Batman forever sound track cassette and press the rewind button to U2’s Kiss me , Kill Me, Thrill Me,  is that it has 2 headphone jacks.

Living in a world today where all the tech companies are trying to steal my headphone jacks away, this makes me smile. The TPS-L2 does not have a record option, there is also a hotline button. Hotline button activates a builtin microphone. This did come in handy from time to time. However to record music on to a tape portabley was a whole nother problem. You had to hold the microphone up to the music, the sound quality was awful. You got all the surrounding background noise while trying to record a bootleg copy of the new New Kids on the Block cassette..

    The Final Thought

Its simple, Its Timeless. This  belongs in every time capsule from 1979 till the day societies forget about time capsules. It opened music up to place and routines it didn’t quite fit before. Time would take several decades for this magnificent device to be faded out to an ipod. It saw many glorious changes, adaptations and complete evolutions. Who remembers the grandchild of the Walkman, the skipping prone Discman. It will forever be a classic. This helped make us all think the 80’s where a wonderful time to be alive.

  • You Need a MoviePass Subscription for Summer

You Need a MoviePass Subscription for Summer

Moviepass is an incredible deal, if you don’t have one already you are really missing out. Yes, there are many arguably nonsensical reasons not to get one. Its too good to be true, I heard their investment company is running out of money,I don’t like that they know what movie im going to go see, I cant reserve my seat in advance, yes yes all barley valid points not to have a once in a life time opportunity for an  all you can see movie theater pass.

What about the “They don’t make anymore good Movies any more” reason? Well we all know we are going to see Deadpool, Solo, Jurassic World 2 and Mission: Impossible – Fallout, But here are the Top 5 movies out this summer that you wouldn’t pay to go see in the theaters, but should probably go see in the theaters, and could see for free with your Moviepass, so go see them Movies..

    1.Christopher Robin

Disney’s new take on Winnie the Pooh, titled simply Christopher Robin, from director Marc Forster. Ewan McGregor stars in this as a working-class family man in London. He re-encounters his childhood friend Pooh, who helps him to rediscover the joys of life. The main cast includes Hayley Atwell, Mark Gatiss, Adrian Scarborough, Roger Ashton-Griffiths, and Paul Chahidi. For the voices: Jim Cummings as Winnie-the-Pooh, Chris O’Dowd as Tigger, Toby Jones as Owl, Peter Capaldi as Rabbit, Sophie Okonedo as Kanga, and Nick Mohammed as Piglet. This teaser only introduces us to Pooh, with more characters to come. This comparison is going to upset a few of you, but this kind of reminds me of Hook – a grumpy guy revisits his past to discover happiness again.

    2.Hereditary

A24 has revealed another  acclaimed horror film , Hereditary, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. This movie  focuses on the Charlie, the young daughter in the film, played by Milly Shapiro . From writer/director Ari Aster, Hereditary is about a close family that starts to unravel following the death of their reclusive grandmother. As an overwhelming terror takes over their household, their peaceful existence is ripped apart, forcing their mother to explore a darker realm in order to escape the unfortunate fate they’ve inherited.

Toni Collette stars, along with Gabriel Byrne, Alex Wolff, Ann Dowd, and Zachary Arthur. This film is incredible, and will be one of the big breakout horror hits this year, for sure. Don’t miss it when it comes to your local cinema – it’s not only terrifying to watch, but an extremely impressive film between performances and cinematography and script.

    3.Won’t You Be My Neighbor?

Just this trailer will make you tear up, then also remind you how important and wonderful goodness and happiness are. Focus Features has revealed a documentary Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, made by Oscar-winning doc filmmaker Morgan Neville. This is more than just a profile of the late Fred Rogers, known best as Mr. Rogers – it’s a wonderful look at how a man tried to make the world better by figuring out how to speak to kids and teach them the importance of compassion and understanding and helpfulness.

This premiered to glowing reviews at the Sundance Film Festival this year. Someone wrote about it: “This is the documentary we all need right now. It’s a heartwarming, rousing film about how goodness makes an impact in society. It shows us that we can make a difference if we help someone else, if we support them, and believe in them, and remind them that they are perfect just they way they are.” You have to see it.

    4.Tag

“You never know when someone’s going to pop up.” And… you’re it! Warner Bros has finally getting us excited for the  summer comedy movie Tag, based on the true story of a massive game of Tag that a few guys have been playing every year since they were kids. The game is so competitive, so intense, that people will fly all around the country just to not be the one who is “it”. Yeah, it’s crazy.

The movie is about a small group of former classmates who organize the elaborate, annual game. With a rockin’ cast: Ed Helms, Jake Johnson, Annabelle Wallis, Rashida Jones, Isla Fisher, Leslie Bibb, Hannibal Buress, with Jon Hamm and Jeremy Renner. As fun as this looks, it is actually going to have anything to say, or just: hey, be as crazy as you can, because why not have fun. You know you will enjoy this film and you also know you wont spend $15 to find out how much… Moviepass

    5.Alpha

An enemy will become an ally.” Sony Pictures’ epic new action thriller titled Alpha, formerly known as The Solutrean. This is the latest feature film from Albert Hughes, who last directed The Book of Eli in 2010, and it’s set during the last Ice Age – 20,000 years ago (kind of like Emmerich’s 10,000 BC). This epic adventure follows the story of Zeta, played by Kodi Smit-McPhee, a young man injured on a bison hunt left for dead. He befriends a lone wolf and together they figure out how to survive in this harsh environment. So basically it’s The Revenant meets 10,000 BC. The full cast includes Natassia Malthe, Leonor Varela, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Mercedes de la Zerda, and Jens Hultén. The Wolves look so cool, Im looking forward to this one…fo free!! Moviepass.

    The Final MoviePass Thought

I know you know Im making sense. You are right now thinking, I would not have planned to see any of these in the theater but with a Moviepass subscription I will go check theses out. This right here is what is going to turn Moviepass to the next big Netflix. Im mean come on, one of these movies has John Hamm in it…and im going to see all of them for less then half of the big blockbusters I was going to see anyways. Happy summer at the movies for me.

  • Laptop Lookout: HP Envy 17

    Laptop Lookout: HP Envy 17

HP is announcing an update to its Envy Line. HP Envy 17 will be available this summer, and is packing a nice bit of power. Now in 2018, HP has slimmed the bezels around the screens on the Envy laptops. Making the 17 big, powerful and beautiful.

    The Great

    • Great Screen
    • Fantastic Performance
    • Great Battery
    • Sleek Desgin

    The Not

    • Bigger, Heavy

    The Conclusion

THe HP Envy 17 is a powerful laptop, pretty that most can afford. Its big, to big to always have with you, but it should keep you from missing your desktop PC in most ways.

The Envy 17 packs a high-end quad-core mobile processor that will deliver more power than most people will use. Our tests on other laptops have shown that a simple dual-core processor suffices for mainstream applications, but quad-core comes in handy for more intensive uses such as gaming and creating graphics-heavy content.

    Sound Upgrades

HP has now designed a  row of Bang & Olufsen-tuned speakers line the front and they’re angling up at 45 degree. This points them at your ears for listing and not lower, much better sound receptions. I guess its the little things. The volume is now controlled by a touch scroll wheel in the base, where there is also a high-speed wireless charger.

    Webcam, Pop Up

I’ve seen this getting adapted around a few tech devices that I hope catches on. Its the pop up camera. I know its kinda gimmicky but i like the assurance of not having some hack in to my camera and spy on my life. The pop up camera can be popped down and blinded when I’m not using it.

    Lets Talk Speed

Speed and performance are off the charts. On the performance front, HP has updated from 7th Generation CPUs to the latest 8th Generation Intel Core quad-core CPU (4C/8T) running at a base frequency of 1.8 GHz with a maximum Turbo frequency of 4 GHz while fitting in a 15W TDP at base frequency. The 17-inch runs the massive processor but has 12GB of DDR4-2400 in a 4+8 GB tilted configuration.

    Quick Spec Look

    • CPU: Intel 8th-generation Core i7-8550U
    • Memory: Up to 16GB of DDR4-2400 SDRAM (the base model has 8GB)
    • Display: 17.3-inch FHD (1920×1080) IPS WLED backlit touchscreen
    • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce MX150 with 2GB GDDR5 memory
    • Storage: 1TB 7,200rpm hard drive with a 16GB Intel Optane Memory module, plus a DVD drive

The Final Thought on the HP Envy 17

Solid, solid upgrades, beautiful design. I didn’t want to talk to much about the look of this, because its impressively stunning and something to experience first hand with about pre-building expectations. Just look at it you will know what I mean. Its got the screen and power we need but I think it will be more of a home computer for us,  because of its size and weight, and not get to travel and see the world like the smaller versions. Sad

  • Top 5 Smart Fridges

    Top 5 Smart Fridges

So last week my fridge broke, this is the fridge that came with the first home I bought 6 years ago. I’ve never purchased a large appliance before, So I was more then a little perplexed. I thought back to an article I wrote about a guy that upgrade his dated house to a smart house to increase his homes value. One of the key elements to that was the smart fridge so I decided that is the way I  want to go.

Fridges have come a long way in recent years.  Apparently now you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your own home to purchase a smart fridge that will transform your regular, plain old kitchen into a souped-up one. Smart fridges now come equipped with Wi-Fi capability, remote and voice controls (we’re looking at you, Bixby and Alexa), as well as food-preserving temperature monitoring, to name a few. But with so many cool, new features and brands to consider, it can be hard to find the best fridge that will work for me. Now its off to do some research to find my new smartfridge and pass this info I found on to you all as well.

    1.Samsung Family Hub French Door

Samsung’s Family Hub can connect to and control third-party devices that are part of the SmartThings smart home ecosystem such as lights, thermostats, home video cameras, and more. So from this fridge’s screen, you can adjust a SmartThings-compatible thermostat or view what’s happening outside your front door or in another room of the house with a SmartThings-compatible camera. Use Samsung’s Bixby voice-activated assistant to get personalized updates about your schedule – straight from your fridge.

A good deal on this fridge is $2500. If I can find it for that price this is my guy. It has all the latest features and is the King of the smart-fridge hill right now.

    2.Kenmore Smart

Stainless steel, French doors, extra-large capacity and the Kenmore Smart app . With this Energy Star-qualified appliance, you can always make sure your food stays at the correct and safe temperature thanks to the convenience of the Kenmore Smart app and GeniusCool™ technology that creates the ideal temperature and humidity levels for your cuisine. I can Control the fridge remotely with Alexa or use voice commands to activate the ice maker or air filter or to adjust and monitor your fridge’s temperature. Nice recessed LED interior lighting brightly illuminates the fridge’s contents, helping to ensure nothing goes to waste in a forgotten corner. Plus, the extra-large dispenser area on the front of the fridge is big enough to accommodate not just glasses but coffee pots, water bottles and even large pitchers, too, making it convenient to access fresh, clean water anytime.

At $2300 prime this seems like a good option, the only hesitation is we’ve found a few little qualms, the kinda stuff you don’t know when you purchase blind on line like:

    • The plastic components are thinner material = Cheap
    • The drawers don’t pull out as far.
    • The overall feel is light / cheap.
    • Both refrigerator and freezer interior lighting is lacking.

3.Whirlpool – 32 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator

Wi-Fi connectivity so that it can connect to your home automation system of choice, but the real advantage of this fridge is that it includes a smart learning process that adapts to your schedule and can readjust for parties or other events where the door is frequently opened or closed. Whirlpool decided to stick with simple, fridge-specific features that don’t ask you to rethink the role of your kitchen. Marinating some meat? The screen will show you recommended times for different cuts and ask if you want to set a timer. Cleaning the fridge? Whirlpool will suspend cooling to save energy and also shut the door alarm off so it doesn’t annoy you while you scrub. Seems more intuitive then smart.. pass

cost on this guy – $ 4400  and I know you already know what a Whirlpool french door fridges looks like.. boring

4.GE Profile Smart French Door Refrigerator

Huge capacity, black stainless steel and a built-in Keurig K-Cup with instant hot water makes this fridge one of the coolest on our list. It comes with two evaporators to create separate, optimized climates in the fresh food compartment and in the freezer to ensure ideal humidity, making your food taste better and last longer.  Electronic Temperature Controlled Drawer with Colored LED Lights and Scheduled hot water. SO i have hot water on tap whenever I know I may need it. I can even use Amazon’s Alexa to control your fridge simply using my voice. Just ask Alexa to heat up water for your favorite hot beverage or turn on GE’s TurboCool function to restore the ideal temperature after putting away groceries

$3300 I like this one a lot. I like the darker stainless steal look. I love the way the door float open. This one I high in the running for Beau’s new fridge. I just wish it had the big screen wow factor the Samsung does.

5.LG Signature Smart Fridge French Door Refrigerator

Again no screen but knock twice to illuminate and see inside InstaView’s glass panel, Door-in-Door feature allows you to get in and get out with ease. LG says it  stays true to the essence, delivering a new sense of life for the most discerning individual. I kinda agree, there is a is a smart sensor detector at the foot of the refrigerator that opens the door automatically. Just step on the “Door Open” light projection on the floor in front of the refrigerator and the door gently opens.

$6600, its nice but ill have to pass

    The Final Thought

And the winner of the honor of being my new fridge is… The Samsung Family Hub. It was the highest reveiwed, best priced and has the wow factor of the screen. Not to mention the tech geek I am, but this thing has loads of useless features. Im in, congrats Samsung

  • Expect Big Things from Apple’s WWDC

Expect Big Things from Apple’s WWDC

Last year’s WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) saw the announcement of the HomePod as well as the new iPad Pro 12.9 and iPad Pro 10.5. This was also when Apple revealed iOS 11 and watchOS 4. Apple will have to up the anty if it wants to compete with Google’s jaw dropping I/O conference. Lets look at some big things we expect to hear about in Junes WWDC.

    iOS 12

This is a not a surprise, we have seen twelve iOS update keynotes at these things over the years. This year what we are looking to see is vast stability upgrades. Primary apps getting overhauled or upgrades, apps like  Mail, Camera and Photos ever calendars, calculators, and stocks. Could we make iMovie a little more mainstream and easier?  Security and performance focus would be less exciting but much needed. What not to expect is for apple to blow your hair back with some revolutionary feature or function, they will save that for September.

    iPhone SE

I’ve written about this before, the SE has aged well and served its purpose but now its time for even the entry level iPhone to get a much needed upgrade. Why waste something this meaning less and cram it in with the big release in September when you can pop it out at the end of June and give a pop to the Q2 earnings.  I would expect the SE to unveiled and introduced at the WWDC and pre orders a week after.

    Watch OS 5

They do this every year, while we are starting to hear rumors about the Watch 4, we will for sure see the preview for the new watch OS. Id like to see a quicker control option, new watch faces, and if the crowd gets too bored at this tech conference maybe test out a new sleep tracking feature.

    New Mac Pro

We know a redesigned Mac Pro is coming, and Apple even recently made a point of reminding everyone when it said the following in a press release:

“In addition to the new iMac Pro, Apple is working on a completely redesigned, next-generation Mac Pro architect-ed for pro customers who need the highest performance, high-throughput system in a modular, upgrade-able design, as well as a new high-end pro display.”

Im thinking we will see a big keynote on this. I would expect it to be the highlight of WWDC, kinda mad I spent that $8000 on a new mac pro in Feb.

    What Else

Those are the thing we know for sure they will hit upon at the WWDC but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a new Apple TV, with a boost to TV content. The Macbook and Mac Mini will be getting some attention as well, and don’t forget about a possible hint at a revamped iPad Pro for a fall release. Not to mention we will have to sit through hours of financial report and sales bragging from Tim Cook to look forward to..
